Great race everyone, sorry so many got into it at the start. The Corvette requires a very gentle start. What works best for me is to be very easy on the gas until the car gets rolling, then make sure the tires are not spinning and ease into the gas. The low end torque will get you going. Here are the results

My own inexperience in pit lane bit me in the ass today.
After the start carnage, I did the tow thing to the pits to get my "fast repair" and get back out.
So the tow is like 35 secs or so and then the Pit Service timer starts counting, and counting and counting.
I'm sitting there going WTF, where is this fast repair? Saw Boza take off and my Pit Service timer is still counting.
My peakometer is really starting to climb when out of frustration I hit the gas pedal saying "F'ing C'MON!" and to my surprise the car MOVES. So I take off cursing and swearing at pretty much everything and everybody and get out on the track only to see Troy's headlights coming around the corner.
Quick glance tells me I'm about to be lapped by 3 cars and my tires aren't even warm yet. Swore a few more times, pulled off and called it a day.
Regroup for the next event.
From the looks of it helios had a rough time as well. 15 incidents in 5 laps... ouch!

Yeah, I made the same mistake Kelly. "Fast" repair really is more like "instantaneous!"

I will know for next time. I thought about it and the only other time I've been in the pits in iRacing was one of our first events in the Spec Racer Ford.

Yeah, I don't know what happened. The car never felt "right". After the starting line carnage, I was thinking sweet, free spots. Saw Knight also made it through the wreck, and was looking forward to a nice little race. I don't usually try passing T2/3, but it looked like Knight pushed wide, so I decided to try to slip through. You can imagine my surprise when his car turned right back for the apex (or late apex). I tried burying the brakes...but it was too late. The contact wasn't heavy, quite light really, but it was enough to put Knights car into a lazy slide that it refused to pull out of...right into a wall. My car also went for a little ride as well resulting in damage and a trip to pit road. The car was fuckered for good after that. After the car proved unpredictable over the next couple laps...I said fuck it, and decided to do something a bit more productive w/ my time. Unless I am able to get significant more practice (I actually spent almost 45 minutes the night before re-familiarizing myself with the car and track) I'm going to think twice before joining in again. I really don't like wrecking people out like that...and I even thought I turned enough laps to be safe on the track. Sorry again Knight. You got a free shot at me coming.
