Thanks for the those that came out for the race tonight. I know a few of you didn't care for the track, but overall it seemed to produce some very good racing and an excellent mix of strategies. I considered running a 2 stopper on softs, but decided to try a 1 stop strategy starting out with softs and then inters. I struggled with tire wear quite a bit. This is the first track I remember where my right rear was going off the quickest. Found myself in 3rd, but Jeff and Chris were closing in with a fresh set of softs. They got by fairly easily, then it was a matter of holding off Dale, who was also running his second stint on softs and was gaining fairly rapidly. The back end kicked out on me and the nose slammed into the wall going up the hill on the left hander with about 4 laps to go. I felt fortunate to barely hold off Dale by less than a second and finish 5th. Dale posted an interesing chart that is showing a steady decline in attendance lately. I also know the Blancpain series is seeing a similar trend as well. I am curious to get feedback from those who aren't able to make the races. Are guys getting burned out? Is the nicer weather in some areas causing this? Hockey and Basketball playoffs? Really would like to hear from folks just to get a better understanding. Again, really appreciate everyone that came out. Also hope Dan gets well and quits trying to lift big block engines by himself.

I can't complain about 6th tonight. I just wasn't into this track... I'm not complaining about the track, mind you. There are a few types of corners I suck at (no, I'm not telling you!!) and this track had a few of each. It's like how I don't like pineapple on pizza and boy this pizza had some pineapple.
I ran an inter/soft strategy. It worked OK except I lost time in the first stint in traffic while Chris got clear and was up with the faster group. By the time I got clear, I couldn't do anything about the gap to the front so it was about not screwing up and running steady laps.

Finished far better than I was expecting. I was hoping for a top 5...ecstatic with 2nd. For the most part it was a very quiet race. Settled in 6th place with a gap to the group in front, and a gap to the rest behind. It let me just turn laps at my own pace and save the tires. Moved up the order as cars started pulling off into the pits. Switched to softs for the final stint. Had a great little scrap with Hawks and Stinky for 3 laps or so, until their tires fell off. I was not expecting to catch Zeke though. But I did catch him on the last lap, that thing looked like a handful. Bummer about the damage. Sorry to see Boza disco, he would've been up there in the middle of it. So looks like I get to hang onto 3rd in the standings for another week.

I had a pretty good race. Spent the first half trying to catch Dave and when I did finally catch him to really get a battle going he goes into the pits. I stay out for a few more laps and then pit myself. I never see him again, he is a good 15 seconds ahead of me the last half of the race. I figured out how to thread the needle on that bumpy chicane, but missed one and spun and hit the wall, but luckily didnt do too much damage and was able to continue on. Made sure to to not repair damage in the pits and had a nice 9 second stop. As for this track, I have had more trouble with other tracks (oren park) than I did with this track. I wasn't fast here at all but still I thought it was a good technical track.

I had a better race than I thought I would but some of it was due to attrition. I didn't have much practice until 20 minutes before (why they had a game 6 and on 7 back-to-back nights is beyond me). I was driving conservatively trying to keep the tires under control. Tried to pace Dale in the opening laps since I figured he'd one-stop but I couldn't keep up without burning up tires. I barely was able to make two inter stints work. Not sure how you guys could do a soft-inter work.
I had my eye on Jimmy and Pat the whole race. After I pitted I was 15 sec behind Pat and 15 in front of Jimmy. I started making up some time but backed off thinking I needed to conserve tires and I thought Pat would stop again. I guess he did but only because of an accident.
I enjoyed the track. It has issues but I like having new tracks to learn and it's free....we are spoiled by the quality of some tracks but need to remember you sometimes get what you pay for.

Spun out, got stuck on a curb, race over. I watched a little of the racing and left. My own fault as I didn't put any laps in with the Int tires and decided last minute to run the race with Int. That plus the added fuel that I didn't practice with doomed me. Never again.

That sucked Marvin. I was hoping you would be able to get going again.

I did not enjoy this VERSION of this track. I would love to see a quality build of it, the real life layout is interesting and pretty creative. I didn't expect to get the win tonight, seeing Zeke's superior pace and Jason's close pace to mine, PLUS he's usually better on tires. So instead I went Inter/Inter, and decided, since the long Carousel-like turn was demolishing my L/F, that I would just focus on consistency and take home a 3rd or 4th, and get 'em back elsewhere. But Hawks seemed to struggle in the opening laps and fell like a rock, leaving me to deal with Zeke. His strategy was Short/Inter and it really seemed like it might work, as he was able to pull 10+ seconds on us for his first stint. So I pitted on Lap 12 and he zoomed by, and again had around 9.x seconds on me. Figuring he was going to pit a second time for Softs I just cruised, until I realized that even at my cruising speed, I was catching him a little. So it became obvious he was gonna try stretching Inters 15 or so laps, so I decided to try and catch him, tires be damned. I think he got taken out by a lapped car, because I came upon him with about 5 laps to go spun out in a cloud of smoke at the first chicane. Shame, because I think it was going to be an interesting battle, I was gonna catch him with 1 or 2 laps to go, and he might have held me off. Not how I wanna win, but I'll take it. I didn't realize we only have a handful of races to go, and 37 points between us--once again I'm having that late surge, I just hope I don't come up a position short this time!

Thanks for the feedback Smokey. We plan on giving rF2 another hard look this summer (your winter ) to see if it's ready for prime time. More guys seem have it now, so that's another step in that direction.

It's ready, it's READY!!!! lol It's coming along from what I've been experiencing. Since we're not running any night races I don't see that being a problem. ALTHOUGH I would like to see some day to dusk transitions every once and a while. Would be nice to see. Rain would also be nice every now and then.

Is it not hard on machines though? ESR has been tentative about switching as well, mainly because there's no historic touring cars yet... But also because it seems like a LOT of people can't run the thing worth a shit...

Its system requirements are certainly higher than rF1 although it has gotten much better in the last 10 months or so. Guys like Bones don't stand a chance of running it though.

In my opinion, RF2 still dose not have the mod support to make it a new standard for us yet. Not enough tracks (Good tracks) for a full season of anything yet. And until they (ISI) can get it to a point where it is not getting rebuilt every month, it's not worth putting together a season of racing on it. But I would like to use it more often for one offs and such.Just my opinion...
