I did what Fantomas said. I put the whole F1 folder in instead of putting in the tracks individually and it worked. Wow!! Its going to take some time to get used to these cars, Im not used to taking turns that fast!!

Wow, what an intense race last night. Below is copied from my post at efnet....cause I'm lazy. Monza started out a bit rough. Took me about 10 attempts to complete a full lap. Finally was able to find my way around repeatedly prior to qually. During qually I managed a couple offs by dropping 2 wheels off in the braking zone (one was the instance F1 mentioned), but was still able to piece together a 32. Thought it was decent...then noticed it only good to lock down last place. So knowing I didn't have a competitive pace, my goal from the outset was to just keep my nose clean and make it to the end, expecting some attrition. Delayed for about a second or so at the line to let everyone else get off...and managed to spin it. Never did that before of the line. Oh well, no biggie as I now had a bit of a gap to the cars in front. Just focused on running my race and watched as my lap times dropped from steady 33s down into the 32s. Around lap 13/4, in the final corner, came up on F1 and a blue car. F1 checked up for the blue car, I went around the outside, then felt a shunt to the rear, did a 360, and drove off w/ a lightly damaged RR suspension. I don't know if I came down to soon (everyone was clear in my peripheral), or if one of the other cars had the nose wash out, but it didn't sound like there was any major damage anywhere. If I did pinch, I apologize. Took chase after F1 again and watched him head to the pits a couple laps later. Running by myself again, trying to focus on consistency, watched my lap times drop from 32s down into the 31s heading up to my planned pit on Lap 20. Well, evidently fuel was a touch short, as I ended up having to pit a lap early, but having added 4 extra laps worth for the pit stop (just in case this happened), it wasn't a big deal. Pit was a little long (16 sec) due to the damage incurred earlier, but ended up evening things out w/ F1, as I rejoined the track just behind him. Took the next lap a little easy to let the tires come up to temps (running Bs), then took chase. Lap times dropped down into the 30s as I slowly closed the gap until F1 made his second stop. Final run to the finish had a couple hair raising moments, the biggest was right in front of a couple of the lead cars. Heading down the backstraight I saw 2 cars that were closing in pretty quickly, so moved off line well in front of them and backed off to let them through before the final chicane. The first car made it well clear...but the chicane still came up a lot faster than I was anticipating. By the time I noticed where I was (I was watching for the other car to clear so I could move back on line), I was deep into the braking zone. Got on the brakes, knew I was going straight through, and braced for impact.....that never came. He must've seen it coming, held off on his turn in and watched me skip across the track into the sand. I apologize for that, I was trying to not interfere w/ your battle...and in the end made more of a muck of it. Once I realized there wasn't a big wreck, quickly re-oriented myself, got off the brakes and was able to get the car turned and clear of the barriers and rejoined the track well to the right after the chicane. This allowed F1 to close a huge chunk of time going into the final 10 laps. He was now only 10 seconds or so behind and closing. I turned the LCD from race standings to vehicle condition once I saw the gap get down to 8 seconds so I could try to focus on my laps, and not the gap. If he was going to catch me, he was going to catch me, but I wasn't going to make it easy for him if I could help it. In the closing laps I even managed a few 29's trying to keep what gap I could. From what OldSlowFred was saying (he was acting as spotter for the 2 of us after dropping out) I managed a couple laps where I maintained the gap. In the end it was enough. I didn't see what the gap was at the end (mind was spinning), but I bet it wasn't much more than 5 or 6 seconds (if that). In the end, netted a top 10. Which is far better than I had any hopes for. And yes, I know it's due to attrition, but I'll take it any way I can get it damnit! ;D

Well, heading out of qualifying it wasn't looking too good. And I caught a lot of breaks w/ attrition. A few more laps and F1 would've had me. Looked at the race report...and he was down to something like 4.5 seconds back. I would've given it about another 2-3 laps. I think the last minute increase of the wings to 17/12 (F/R) ended up being a wise decision.

I absolutely hated the car and the track the day before then I got home Monday, threw on a low downforce setup and drove it like I stole it.
I realized only after the race that I think the biggest change I made was to put the steering lock at 22-23 degrees (I usually run 17 in the Supercars) the car was a dog in the chicanes at 17 degrees.

Damn, I ran some practice there last night... I can turn a few clean laps but then one little brain fart and I'm bouncing off the walls.
This will be a maximum concentration event.

Back when I was a bicycle racer there were races so painful I used to wish for a flat tire so that I could retire with dignity (it really worked once... I broke a spoke). This is going to be like that.

Or with a bit of luck, we'll somehow find a groove like we did at Monza and have a stellar time. Not likely...but hey, trying to be optimistic.
