I don't particularly care for HSR, so I opted to run a Halloween Exhibition w/ efnet in the vintage Trans Am cars. Made it back in time for the 2nd race at Kyalami. Had fun. Got a good start on the restart. Battled w/ Brent and Smokey for a couple laps. Ended up running w/ Rich for a few laps battling for 4th place just before pit stops. There were times it looked like neither of us wanted 4th, as one would bobble and give up the spot, just for the other to do the same thing just a couple corners later. Bungled my pit stop (completely missed it, had to back up), then second corner out of the pits, I went in too hot on cold tires and went straight off the track. Bent up the LF, causing my to have to turn the wheel 10-15 degrees to the left to go down the straights. Turned to the right like a champ...the lefties...not so much. Caught up to Wolf and settled into a great battle that felt like it lasted 7 or 8 laps, before I was able to finally get by as his front tires started falling off (how mine weren't w/ the damage, I have no idea). I would pull a small gap on Wolf and cross the line in 5th(?). Not too shabby for having not driven the V8's here before I showed up from the Trans Am race. I had a 45 minute race here a month ago in the Fiat X1/9 and screwed around for a few laps last night in the F1 cars, so at least I was a little familiar with the track, if not the track/car combo.

It was fun racing with you guys. My start sucked and I got swallowed up by a few cars and had to work my way back up. I missed my braking point for T-1 and bumped someone of (didn't have tags on) but we were both able to continue with out much problem. My pitstop went well but I didn't know where the line was and I think I turned my limiter on way to early. Better safe I guess. Good fun and I am looking forward to the next one.

Just a FYI in case this happens to anyone in the future. I came into pit and Stinky was in my pit box (it's gotta be a problem with this track). Anyway, the technique when that happens is to nudge the other car ahead a few feet because the pit crew will start servicing you when your nose is in the box. There is a downside to this... it will often trigger damge repair and you'll be unlikely to flip the pit menu to No Damage before you receive service. So, you have to weigh the relative delays of waiting for the box to clear vs. shoving your way in.

Nope, that was MY pit box!! ;D Do we need to call lawyer?? I would be happy to offer my dispute resolution services. ;D Sorry I missed the racing last night. I was with the wife and kids doing the Halloween thing. I also am very busy at work right now, and so I am getting home from work later and later. I can still get in some iRacing before I go to bed because the races I am interested in start at 8pm, 8:30pm and 8:45pm, well after the start of our GBR races.

Glad to hear everyone had fun last night! My Halloween night was long but uneventful for the most part which was the same for the bulk of the districts. There were some "interesting" costumes at a couple of the house parties we attended to last night that is for sure!
Looking forward to a quiet weekend.
Cheers!
