If anyone plays and enjoys this series I play on the No Nonsense Gamers server. It is configured for Conquest Large, Hardcore, No Minimap, 1,000 Tickets per side and Punkbuster on.
There are Admins always on the server and they enforce a strict "No Base Rape" policy. They are also really good about getting rid of the asshats that often show up and try to ghost ride jeeps, etc.
The Map Rotation is really good with Caspian Border, Firestorm, Kharg Island, Grand Bazzar, Gulf of Oman and Strike at Karkand. As its Conquest Large there are 32 players aside and the server is generally full.
I play for fun of course but I like good comms and teamwork which makes everything more fun to my mind. I generally balance between Assault, Engineer and Support. I never do Recon though if we had a full squad a Recon role would help.
Anyway that's the pitch to come play some Battlefield with me if anyone is so inclined.
Cheers!

Dark, I have Battlefield 3 for PC and will try to join you. I finished the single player campaign. I also bought the multiplayer season pass expansion, but have yet to use it. This is a good excuse to do that.

smokey: Feel free to come out and play. I'm not a top of the leaderboards kind of player. I'm usually in the negative K/D's - Mid pack 10-14th place on average and I don't care as I usually score lots of points by capturing bases, handing out the various packs and trying to support the team as a whole. @lawyer: Sounds good! My Origin username is: KRGDRK so feel free to add me and we'll squad up some time and go have some fun! Cheers!

Yep, I always push for the win. On Sunday night towards the later part of the evening our entire team bailed and it was one other guy and me vs 12 guys. Neither of us left and we just worked in tandem capturing bases and making the enemy run all over the place looking for us. We tied it up and then more people started to arrive and things evened out again.
For me that was a great time because we really had to work together and more importantly work smart not to constantly get slaughtered.

hmm is it plug & play type of thing? ive just always thought there was a massive advantage to keyboard/mouse? I would think the biggest thing is what you're comfortable with. It would also depend on how many "hotkeys" you need and if you can program what you need on the controller. The controller should be plug and play...though you'd want to read up on it to make sure.

Everything you needed was mapped in BF3 on XBox to a controller so I don't see it being an issue on the PC. I've seen guides for setting the "optimal" dpi for your mouse when in BF3 and what not to aid smooth aiming. It may make a difference for the aliens of BF3 but for the average player, I don't think it seriously impacts your play.
There are a few more additions needed if you are typing in chat but otherwise shouldn't be an issue. I switched back to the keyboard/mouse combo but I found using my G13 Gamepad works great in conjunction with the mouse.

What times do you play? I totally suck, but I think (and hope) that is because I'm always stumbling around by myself. Would love to get involved in some teamwork.
I usually don't start shooting though till pretty late on weekends (and perhaps tonight/tomorrow with Thanksgiving here).

I usually play between 9:30pm MST/11:30pm EST on weekenights (mood depending) and generally play for about 3.5 hours. Weekends I am totally flexible so whenever till whenever.
Also keep in mind that two of the maps are Premium expansion maps so if anyone doesnt have premium you'll get dropped as soon as the rotation switches to those last two maps.
Cheers

Oh and please don't worry about how well you play. If you like working together and are there to have fun, you'll be golden.
