Spazcar NWS Series
First of I’d like to thank all of you that have participated in Spazcar. Even on the weeks where the numbers are low some of you make the journey to various track and settle in for an hour or so of turning left. Bumper to bumper, door to door sometimes. It’s been an exciting series to date and I look forward to the same level of excitement for many seasons to come.
New venue this year brings new challenges. First off ... the return of road courses! The series will use these intermittently throughout the season to add some variety, possibly entice some new entrants and allow for a more realistic, immersive season. The season will also be extended and run consecutive Tuesday nights as opposed to the alternating Tuesday nights as before. The Spazcar Home Town series will move to the “off” season and hold a “mini” season in-between.
Also new for this season is a revised points system. Spazcar will now follow as closely as possible the NASCAR points system. So essentially something like this…(providing I can get someone to help with the EXCEL file)
* First place receives 43 points; second place receives 42, and so on with each place separated by 1 point. Sprint and Nationwide races have a maximum of 43 cars, so the 43rd place car receives 1 point with a full field.
* All drivers who lead at least 1 lap receive 1 bonus point.
* The driver who leads the most laps receives 1 additional bonus point.
* The driver who wins Pole receives 1 Bonus point
* The driver who has the fastest lap of the race receives 1 Bonus point
* The driver who makes the MOST overtakes and is NOT the winner gets 1 Bonus point.
So theoretically…The winner that gets the pole could earn 47 points for that event. Or winner could get 43 and second could earn 47 if awarded all bonuses. It should make it a little more interesting and potentially a weekly battle for the series lead.
Once again we will be on a fixed tune series. I will do my best to provide competitive and sometimes strategic tunes. If you wish to submit a tune for my evaluation, please feel free to email it to torntv@gmail.com Please indicate your lap time and for which track it is. Thanks.
I am currently seeking station (Torn TV) and series sponsor (Spazcar) so a modified RFM file may be required to run this series (NWS).I will know better after CES. I will get that rectified in time for testing and available as a drop in download for you. It will be a one time download with the rfm files and skins.
Deadline for custom skins for NWS will be February 1rst and REAL NAMES please
(Get your base paints done..there maybe specific contingency sponsors required)
Please check the series events section for the new tentative schedules so you'll be ready. Thanks again everyone for your participation and making this series alot of fun to race you guys with.
