Lets use this thread to track the official series that each of us are doing during Season 1. I will start. Here is my list.
Road Series GT Challenge - McLaren Prototype/GT Mixed Fixed - HPD Prototype Cadillac Cup
Oval Series Class A Sprint Cup Fixed Class B Nationwide Fixed Class C Camping World Truck Fixed
I know, I know, no SRF. I decided not to do that series, since we are doing it for our GBR road racing series.

RoadMX5 Cup (becoming painfull though) Havent really delved much deeper Trust me, get out of Rookie as fast as you can. The higher level road series are much better than the MX-5 Cup. I wish iRacing would make an MX-5 Cup for folks with C licenses and higher. If it did, I would again participate in that series.

I am not going to be able to focus on any one. I am going to bounce around between the Skip Barber, Ford Spec and when I reach C the Star Mazda. I have only 3 or 4 tracks for these series so I am going to have to buy a few if I want to get 8 in on any of these series. I just want to buy the ones with the most cross over.
Not planning any oval racing for now. The rookie races are enough to keep me well away.

Yeah Smokey. Get out of the Rookie class and try some of the Grand Touring Cup. It is an improvement over the MX-5 only cup and you can still use the car. I still had a lapped car hit me once on the last lap because I had eased up to let a car in another class by. Both guys had no benefit in passing me but it was clear they were going to push to get by.

Road (as tracks are available):GT/Prototype - FGT Star Mazda Oval:none I will still dabble with the others here and there (V8SC, Modifieds), but I don't know that I'll be spending too much free time on it. In fact, I've held off on purchasing the Lotus 79 for now.....and may hold off on purchasing further content. I can run the 2 series above to get my 8 races for the credit. I'll use the credit to purchase additional content, but for now I'm just going to ride it out. I get more enjoyment running rF/R07 with GBR, efnet, 2O2R, R2P than I do w/ iR. And since I want to spend time with the bikes, cars and guitars...I can't be sitting at the simrig every waking hour I'm not at work.

Just alternate when you don't have the track for the week. I always heard that the differences between the MX-5's were minimal. I think one is a left hand and the other a right, and the gearing was slightly different. They are both used in the MX-5 cup and are the same class.

The Cup is LHD and has a 6 speed. Other than that, they should be pretty much identical. More isn't always better, as I was .5 second faster in the 5-speed car around Lime Rock. It all depends on how the gear spread fits the track. I think I was faster in the 6-speed car around Okayama. They tend to vary a little bit from track to track.

I run races in some of the other series for fun or to build up SR, but I am concentrating on the above series for championship points.
