I was trolling the SRF forum and found the spreadsheet posted below interesting. The Green indicates free tracks. They definitely get you good once you get out of Rookie. It is a little unfortunate. Many people can't just go out and buy a ton of tracks to participate. I think they should mix in a couple more free tracks into D class and get into all premium for C and above. I have read that the SRF series numbers have taken a hit because of so many premium tracks. I guess the adage "you have to pay to play" is appropriate here.

Yes, there is no question that iRacing is expensive. But, you do get your money's worth, particularly if you are smart about what you buy (which I was partially not). Do the Caddy deal and get your free three months and free extra three tracks. You then take the 1/2 deal that is offered during the Caddy trial and get a year for $45. Be judicious about buying content until you see a deal where you can buy $2 in iRacing credits for $1 in real $$$. If you play your cards correctly, you can get a year of iRacing with lots of content for less than what us Forza 4 diehards paid Turn 10 and M$ for the first year of Forza 4 content ($150-$200).

Yeah, I know you get what you pay for. I am "just sayin'" that they could spread it out slightly. I am not suggesting all free tracks, just more than three. I did the Caddy promo and think it is the best way to get into it, hands down. That's why I am hesitant to buy a bunch of tracks. I think I'll get the three most commonly used in the SRF and Skip since that is where my focus is for now.
When do they do this 2 for 1 virtual to real dollar thing?

Just keep your eyes out. I am sure one of us iRacing addicts will post something in the iRacing deals thread here at GBR as soon as we see it. The last time they offered it, I got $100 in content for $50. You can get a discount on top of that of up to 25% by buying multiple pieces of content at once, which means that for some content, you can pay as little as 25 cents on the dollar for it.

People don't want to advance to just run the same tracks. Just buy them as you can afford them.

If it were not for that I would be happy to race many the rookie series. I just could't stand the erratic driving. Like I said in my posts, I am not asking everything to be free content.

I said the same, the jump from Rookie is very expensive and a bit over the top, no-one who wants to enjoy iRacing is going to want to stay in Rookie so you are caught by your gentlemen parts and squeezed. Tis the way of the world unfortunately.

I've had plenty of incident free races mostly in C class and above. By incident free, I mean no incidents caused by someone hitting me. I may have had an off track or 2, but that is on me. My best battle in a race to date was a GT Challenge race at Spa last week. Me and another guy swapped spots for 3rd multiple times. I was slightly faster than him, but he was more consistent. He would get by me when I made a mistake and went off track. Then I would catch him and have to work hard to get by. He raced hard and didn't make it easy, but when I got the advantage, he didn't block it either. We never ran into each other.
When I got iRacing, I jumped into it head first on the deep end. I signed up for a 2 year subscription and have spent $600.24 on cars and tracks since joining. (Don't tell my wife). I know its a lot, but it is my main game now. I spend 2-4 hours a night racing, testing, practicing and time trialing. I'm not that good yet, but I am having fun, especially in the higher class races.
I still run the Mazda Cup occasionally because I really like the car, but the other night I was in a Mazda race and got rear ended 2 times by the same guy because he overcooked the corners. I started 3rd and he started 4th. I was faster than him in some sections and he was faster than me in others. He was just impatient and didn't want to pass cleanly and I was in a racing mood that night so I didn't just let him by. After the race I asked him why and he said sorry his brakes messed up. I didn't buy it because his brakes worked on every other corner, but since he did have the decency to apologize, I let it go and moved on with a huge SR hit for an 8 incident 10 lap race.

I was same as you last race (last vid I put up) I started 4 he was 5th I caused the first incident by going too far over when he was beside me at first corner but when he went for big dive past 2 of us at same corner & smacked me off track hard no apology nothing it just really grates ya

The only incident free races I have had in Mazda Cup were when I started from the pits and let everyone by me that got close. Even then it's not guaranteed because sometimes you try to let someone pass and they still feel the need to hit you.
