I bought a EVGA 560Ti and I've been having a couple issues with it. Wolf helped me get the screen position fixed so that's good now. Problem is, when I set my resolution to 1920x1080, my graphics quality downgrades horribly. Icons look like 16 bit and even the pretty Aero taskbar disappears and turns gray. I have the latest driver. My old card was a EVGA 6680 or something like that and it never had those issues. Any ideas?

I know this might sound dumb....do you have the right voltage in your psu to run it. I know once you step up to 1080 it makes the card work, does the same thing happen if you take a step down in overall resolution? I just got my evga gtx 560 sc yesterday and am having no issues running maxed... Trying unistalling all the nvidia drivers/reinstall ( do the clean option when installing) and DONT install 3d,physics etc...just the display driver and see if that works... otherwise it just maybe the card...the TI's are prone to issues of all sorts ( just from my research trying to get the last one working)

Weird. I didn't have those issues, mine was pretty much plug & play on the single monitor. Lawyer or F1 may have some ideas as I believe they run nvidia Ti cards as well.

What is your display? A TV? It could be that you have a 720/768p display and when the card and TV exchange configuration data it's causing some conflict.
If you're running a PC monitor then I'd suspect a bad cable that's not capable of the bandwidth needed for higher resolutions.

It's a 40" 1080P LCD. It worked fine with my older card running at 1080. If I step down, to like 1600x1050 everything is good. I have a new Antec 750w power supply.

Try a different cable or reseat the plugs just to eliminate that part of the chain as a possible issue?

I've tried both a HDMI cable from the mini HDMI on the card. Also tried a DVI to HDMI cable. Both had the same result.

I'll back out now as I don't own this generation of card.
The only parting advice is that my LG Plasma sometimes gets confused with my Nvidia card and if I switch to a different HDMI input and then back again all is fine.

In the res. list, it should have HD/SD and further down PC. Try the largest PC and see what happens.
Also, the latest nvidia drivers just released this week 295.73. Give it a try if you don't already have it. Some cards just don't read the TV aspects correctly. I have a 32" 1080p HD TV and my card only reads it as 720p. So I use the highest PC settings.
One more thing to check, In the nvidia control panel under display, click on view HDCP status and make sure it's reading as capable.

Stinky, I have been running dual PNY Nvidia OC 560tis in my gaming rig since last summer. The first 560ti that I got worked fine from the get go, but the second one I bought, however, was DOA and so I immediately returned to Best Buy and got a replacement, which has worked fine. My attitude about GPUs, and many other kinds of electronics, is that they should work fine out of the box, otherwise it goes back. I bent that rule for the CSR Elite wheel, in part because I knew before I even got it that it needed a firmware update to resolve the minor issues I was having with it in Forza. Your 560ti should work with your HDTV at 1920 X 1080 and no special tweaks should be required. Your PSU also is fine, I have used a 750 W PSU (which Spaz now owns, with my first 560ti and it worked just fine. If it were me, I would return it, if you bought it from a brick and mortar store, RMA it if you bought it online or make a warranty claim with EVGA if you cannot do one of the first two options. As an aside, I subscribe to the iPad version of Custom PC. Its an excellent magazine. It focuses on desktop PCs, particularly homemade or boutique made custom PCs. There is very little coverage of the PCs you would buy from the big boys such as HP, Dell, etc. They do candid, honest reviews of all hardware and software that they get their hands on. They consistently say that the 560ti is the best bang for the buck in GPUs right now. Mine have performed amazingly well, best of any GPUs I have ever owned. You bought the right card, its just that you probably got a lemon.

Let's not turn this thread into an invidia bashing thread please and thank you. Spaz will change his tune after he experiences several months of trouble-free performance with his new 560sc GPU. The one he had previously gave him a lot of trouble and so he has a right to blow off some steam.

This is the Help & Troubleshooting arena where personal opinions (venting steam) that do not directly contribute to solving the OPs issues really don't belong. God I hate having responsibility & authority...I feel like a prick. ;D No hard feelings, I'm just attempting to keep the thread on track, no more, no less.

Installed the new driver and no change. I selected the highest PC setting which is like 1680x1050, looks great at that setting. Also says I am HDCP capable. It's a shame to have a card that won't do 1080 so I may just take Lawyers advice and see if I can RMA it. Thanks for all the input fellas! See ya at Hidden Valley here in a bit!
