boza? >1000 laps! yikes!
I managed to squeeze some more seconds out of it tonight so feeling better but boy oh boy, what tires? after 8 or 9 laps they're done. Something tells me I have inters in my future. I cracked into 1:03 just by a hair but for me there's no way I'll be able to run that quick without pitting every other lap for fresh tires. I'm pretty excited that we've switched up the format, it throws a lot of our strategy out the window. I could see someone limping a one stop race but I doubt it would be competitive with so many laps to do the penalty of a pit stop can get eaten up by the laps times you could throw down I suspect.

Totally mind blowing! Yesterday i ran threw every possible pit strategy i know of, And they are about the same. inter/softs the tire fall off here is increasing fast. i think its going to come down to who can save the most for the end. Hell this maybe an underdog track. and after being on the server last night with some of the crew everyone's thinking the same thing speed vs wear. how to make to the end. it should be an awsome race. who's got what it takes? is it The points leader Boza, The Champ Jeff or Some Pack Guy. i for one cant wait to see how this plays out.

I don't see how anybody will be able to do this race with only 1 stop. The tires just wont last long enough for that. Watching Boza and Jeff throw down 1:02's last night was discouraging as always. I was watching from their cockpit POV and on the back straight they are able to brake so much later than I can. If I try to brake when they do, I fly past the first turn of that chicane. I am thinking something is setup incorrectly for my brakes so I will be checking that out tonight. I have to brake when I am about even with the first corner maker, and they are able to brake at the second corner marker. I hope I can get this figured out either tonight or before the next race. I understand it is a learning process for me and so far I have learned a lot in a short amount of time. The only way I can get better is to race against people better than me. This pushes me to raise my game.

I notice the same thing Jimmy and I put it down to expertise and a sensitive brake application. I know a split second of lock up changes my braking effectiveness. A controlled and firm application can get these cars slowed down quite effectively but if you get a little excited... goodbye corner apex! I have noticed one thing based on how I tune and how our tuning guru does it is in brake pressure. I always crank mine right up to 100% but have noticed Tony's are mid around 86%, could be personal preference but maybe that lower pressure avoids the panic lock up. Having said that though I seem to be an early braker but maybe it's my inner wuss doing that

Yeah I am running Tony's basic V8 setup so I might tweak the brake pressure and see what that does.

Yeah I am running Tony's basic V8 setup so I might tweak the brake pressure and see what that does. Brother tweak away! lol! and find out what works best for you.the setups that i hand out our the base setups. i tune from, and i will twist and turn the car until it dose what i want it to do. and some of the time the race day setup is a lot different. there a million ways to tune a car.its all about searching for that feel your looking for. as for brakes its a 50/50 thing. feel vs stopping power as Smokey said he runs his brakes at a 100% Bias 70/30 left footed braker i think.he can balance both pedals at the same time . not sure what he has his real pedal set at likely 10. vs this heel toe guy. ;)who runs his brakes at 85% bias 58/42 and 10 on the pedal.and most of the time i balance two pedals with one foot. now with all that crap said lol! braking is just as important as speed. example: i hear all the time Man Jeff is fast! and I've said it my self. but if you look around the forum and watch the replays i can clearly see he has figure out the key to his braking.and getting into the corner smoother faster than the rest of us.so maybe its not that he's so fast. maybe its that he better at the slow stuff. which make him faster on the exits and straight line stuff.... if that makes any sense lol!!! back to the point once again. oh! man my mind just went completely blank...i forgot what i was going to say . o-well hopefully you get the point. what ever it was lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I saw it on the other server, maybe I'm wrong but something's fishy! As for the braking? I'm not sure but I remember when I was most competitive I practised the most? Strange isn't it...

Practice.....you talkin' bout practice man??? are we talking about practice or the Game lol!!!! There absolutly nothing wrong with picking things about and putting them back together. i do it all the time. i tear these cars apart piece by piece.and figure them out i spend hours reading up on things work. one thing i still struggle with the most is incar view. i hit stuff on the left side all the time. i just cant see over there.and that slows me down alot. i thought about quitting all the So Called Pro series I'm in. and going back to the hood view. and just having fun...but i don't know if i could go back lol!!!
