Well.. it's finally here. The season Finale! 15 weeks (well 16 cause of one um rainout) of hard fought battles and intense action finds us at Talladega. Home of the bumpdraft, home of the big one and deals being made and broken in a heartbeat! While it took 14 weeks to do it, Jeff Hooper is our series champion. Congrats Jeff!. Server is now up, there's even some almost competitive AI for you draft with and get used to the setup. 75 Laps for the final event. You're gonna need at least 2 pits stops for fuel to make it, and just to keep it interesting tires wear is at 2x times There will be no qualifying for this event. It will be an inverted points field. So last (that participates) is first and first (uh well Jeff will be second last) is last. Hope to see you all out the final event! Official track opening 7:00 PM PST (server will be reset just before this) Drivers meeting 7:30 No Qualifying (inverted points lineup) Race starts promptly at 7:35 Thanks to everyone for all their continue support and participation this season, looking forward to going to the Cup cars and a full replicated schedule, right after the Home Town series runs

This will be fun, but I do not think Ian should start at the back of the field. Painting me a Cup car with a Raiders livery that Hawks will love is a sufficient penalty for Ian's reckless, dangerous, intentional, malicious and outrageous wrecking of me during the last lap of our race last week.

That was definitely fun. Its somewhat disappointing that VHR 2012 doesn't do a better job with the outside lane draft, but hopefully VHR 2013 has that. That will avoid the excessive use of the inside line overtake and will give us an additional option to pass.

Lot of fun last night. Thanks to everyone for comong out! Congrats Armando on the win. And congrats to Jeff on another championship. While it may appear he dominated..it wasn't a runaway and took up til the week before last night to really clinch it. I will get everything updated this weekend. My understanding on 2013 is that alot of time was spent to make the out side line work properly so we'll see soon as we have the skin pack done and we can get testing. Looking forward to the up coming season and switching over to home town rfn late models for a few weeks of "local" short track action Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards

That will avoid the excessive use of the inside line overtake and will give us an additional option to pass. Yeah, the inside was the only passing line I could make work which requires waiting for a error or sticking a nose in to make a gap. Craig and I and I think also Dan and I tried the outside a few times and it just wasn't working. Oh well it was a fun race. I was in the top-4 for most of the race, got spun and went to the back then being out of sequence on pits, I got back up front again but I just couldn't find a way to the lead. The one time that Craig and I got through to the lead, a yellow flew about 0.5 sec after we saw daylight.

What Jeff and Armando do better than any of the rest of us, particularly me, is that they defend the inside line so well. They also are very good at sticking their nose on the inside when they want to pass. Armando and I had some nice scrapes last night. He was doing a great job of getting his nose in there. He would not get away with that in iRacing or real life, because such contact would cause a 4x and/or spin, but the VHR mod allows for some bumping and grinding like that. That is partly why I like the mod, and was willing to pay $40 recently to keep it going. It offers something we cannot get elsewhere. If we can go outside in VHR 2013, the inside line overtake will not be the only way to pass and so if Armando or Jeff, for example, take the inside on me, I can still go to the outside and not always fall behind the pack. I am lukewarm on the RFN mod and short track racing generally, given my addiction to NASCAR racing, but I am totally looking forward to the Cup races. They cannot get here soon enough.

The rfn mod is a bit tricky at first. But once you get a hang of it, it's fun. It is very realistic physics wise. You will feel like you are in an actual late model as many of the testers are the guys that actually drive these cars. Plus it allows us to get back to the gritty short track local action that nascar was base off. I also didnt want to just jump into 2013. Want to allow time for paints and testing before the season to make sure all is right and ready for us. Im excited for it based on the competition level weve seen in the cts and nws series. I can't wait for it either. I just need time to get it set up and ready to roll Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards
