After having my doubts, this track definitely proved to make for some good racing. I want to thank Mr. Haeusler for fixing the Soft Tire track just in the "Nick" of time (sorry, couldn't resist). I owe Pat Collins a big apology in Race 1 for turning him at the entrance of the last corner of the first lap. I completely misjudged both your intention and my own braking and caused you to spin. For the rest of the race, I tried to keep up with Pat Sweeney. Stayed within 1 - 2 seconds and eventually got within about .5 sec, but he didn't make any mistakes for me to capitalize on. Nice job man. Race 2 was a different story. Again was behind Sweeney and I followed him wide and hit that lovely landmine that Dale pointed out at the beginning of the race. Didn't flip my car, but lost multiple spots. A lap or two later I went too wide at the exit of the corner before the long straight and got a tire off, which flung me across the track (luckily nobody was there for me to hit) and I went into the inside tirewall. Came out 22nd or something. Had fun working my way back up and finished 10th, so happy to somewhat salvage my race. I want to thank everyone for coming out. Great turnout (25 cars). Had some really great door to door racing with several guys, which is what I love. It's gotta be boring just cruising out in front of the pack! Welcome Brian, Louis and welcome back Brent. Big congrats to Boza and Dale for their victories. These formats are definitely making things more interesting. If there was a media to cover this, we'd be front page news! Look forward to seeing everyone in 2 weeks at Winton. I love that track!

Hmm, interesting to see quali, I thought I was sandbagging it more than it looked like. It seemed like the cars were much closer together than 4 seconds. I wanted to run these races toward the back, and just put some laps in. My fast laps were decent, but it looks like what I have lost with the layoff is the consistency I had before.

Race 1: Once the opening laps settled down I was lapping pretty well by myself with gaps in front and behind. I followed Rich for the whole race. At the tires wore I started closing on Rich but then the gap stabilized at 1.5 seconds or so and if I gained time somewhere on a lap, he would make it up somewhere else. Race 2: I hadn't run the soft tires until an hour before the race. I was pleased to see that my setup worked much better with softs than the inters I had tuned with. So I decided on a one stop tire conservation race. I pushed the first set as far as I could hoping to have fresher tires at the end of the race. Jeff and I pitted together but something went wrong for him because I left much sooner than he did. After everyone cycled through their pits I realized that I was sitting in 2nd and suddenly Jeff was back and filling my mirrors. I tried to drive as smoothly as I could and not let him by. He took at least two runs on me and I was able to hold him off once and got very, very lucky when I was able to use a lapped car to my advantage. All of a sudden the gap to Armando was tumbling... I looked at my tires and saw they were good (I finished with 42% on the front left) and noted two corners where he was struggling. I drove as hard as I could without overheating the front left and got inside of him eventually. It's been a long time since I've won a V8 race... my legs were shaking on the last lap.

This was my best event in this series so far. I had a few personal bests. No crashes, no spins and finally I didn't get lapped. I want to thank Nick for the tune. I got it right before the race started, turned a few laps in it and figured, what the hell. It felt good for me and paid off. Race 1 I had a good battle going with Marvin but I couldn't ever get close enough for the pass. I was doing my best to stay on his bumper but he did a great job staying focused and consistent. Race 2 I went with a one stop and that worked well for me. Early on I had Dan either right on my bumper or right next to me. My goal was to not freak out like I normally do and just try to stay on my line and hit my braking points. I didn't crack the top 10 in either race, but I did finish higher than I started so I was very excited about that. Congrats to Boza and Dale and all the other podium finishers
Also using my new TH8RS shifter for the first time in a race was a blast. It works so much better than the built in shifter that is on the DFGT.

Race 1: Killer start, made up another 2-3 spots when a couple cars ran wide and got in the hole. Next thing I know I'm sitting pretty in 5th. Sweet. Restart. Crap. Start #2 didn't go nearly as well, I didn't really lose anything, but I didn't gain anything like I did the first time. Then it went into the crapper at the end of the long straight when Sweeney slowed up a bit sooner than I was expecting. Buried the brakes, but there was no way in hell it was going to stop. Pulled the plug, dove to the grass on the outside and buried it in the sand. Instead of sitting 5th, now I'm sitting 24th. Double crap. Waved at Brian who decided to check up on the beach party and continued on. Ended up hooking up with Pat Collins and started working our way back up through the field. I was tickled to find my way back up to 10th.
Race 2: Zero laps on softs before the start of the race. It took a few laps to get adjusted. Ran a 1 stop race, had lots of tire left at end. Had a scrap w/ John for the last 3 laps. I managed to hold him off for 2.5 laps before I got distracted and hit the rev limiter not once, but twice heading down to the left hander allowing John to slip up the inside. Ended up crossing the line on his bumper in 9th.
All in all, I met my target of top 10 finishes in both races.

the night didn't start out very good at all for me. i kept getting Hawk lag frame rate where all over the place. i couldn't focus on the track at all. after tweaking everything in the game, to low and and the graphics card as well. it got better not great. but driveable. Race one was awesome!!! i made a lot of passes in the first few last. hooking up with KJ for an awesome battle that lasted to the end. where we both ran out of gas on the last lap. falling from 9th to 15th.the funny thing is i wasn't surprised or pissed about running out of gas, the battle i was in. was epic. and turned my night around. Race 2 same as the first race i made a few passes in early on. made it up to 10th and then got popped on pit road. falling back to 15th again lol!!! this is a track that i have never figured out. some thing always happens. plus side i had great racing with a great drivers, the setup did everything i asked it to do. and the tire temps were amazing, for what i was asking them to do lol!!! thanks for hosting Boss and congrats to all the winners, podiums and big thanks to Nick for the quick fix.

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers.
I had ver little practice on this track and just couldn't get a good handle on it, tried a bunch of diferent setups too. Plus till race 2 last night hadn't even tried the softs.
Race 1 got an ok start and slotted in chasing the car in front of me, eventually Tony and I got close to each other and then the battle was on. Some awesome racing, very close, some side by side and attempted passes. At one point I got around him to only give it back. I think we did that a couple of times. The running out of gas part sucked though.
Race 2 got another good start and ended up chasing my teammate Sweeney around, cycled through the pits and came out ok and again chasing Sweeney when he came out of the pits. Fun stuff, did better on the soft tires even as far as wear. Still not a fan of this track.

I thought this might be my best chance at a win, not because I particularly liked the track, but because it was a relatively short Intermediate race, and all season long I seem to do a lot better on Intermediate stints.
And that proved true as I lead 90% of the race. I wasn't able to run a slightly conservative pace to save tires though, because Nick was an animal behind me the whole race. I have no idea how we can come up with virtually identical lap times, yet he seems to gain 10 car lengths on me going into every corner. As such, I'd leave him a lane, he'd repeatedly blow by me under braking and run wide, and I'd dip back under him. It was certainly exciting, but it ruined my L/F and he closed a bunch in the final laps. Then he tried it one more time going into the hairpin, and I turned down on him earlier than I should have, completely mis-timed it and took us both out, handing Boza the win. I still feel awful about it, it was half frustration at the tires and half misjudging my timing that caused it, and I threw away another win.
Race 2, what can I say, I was nowhere to be found as usual with tire strategy. Was I the only one who did a 2-stop? It looked like it, but I could only get 10 laps out of the L/F... I could REALLY crawl around and maybe make it 12, but no way I was gonna make 14. Congrats to Dale, solid win, always good to see a new face up front. Much more disappointed with how much ground I lost to Jeff, that was abysmal.
Looking forward to Winton, I think the banked turns will help my tires more.

Congrats goes out to Dale and Boza on your wins. I liked the track but didn't have a enough practice on it. But surprised to finish where I did. Lots of pressure from Jason in race 1. Like a yo-yo on the interval lap after lap. Thought for sure he had me one time, guess i just lucked out. Race 2 it was the same with Kevin. On my ass way too much, just couldn't shake him. Noticed he was coming on strong with 5 or so to go and I looked at tires and saw a lot of green still so I started to drive like normal - tire shredder. Over drove the inside lefties exiting too wide, bounce and bobble and Kevin takes advantage. Oh well, won't complain. I managed one stop on softs and made the best of it. I big at a boy - Nick. Great fix in a clutch. Wow, I was impressed. Good luck next time fellas. Maybe since I now know better tire management, maybe I can turn it up a bit on those banked turns

I still feel awful about it, it was half frustration at the tires and half misjudging my timing that caused it, and I threw away another win. No drama's. I was frustrated at the time but it's all good, we all make mistakes and if I was going to go off at people making mistakes (including me) I may as well go iracing lol

Congrats Dale on the win. I had nothing for you and Jeff on the final laps as my LF was gone. I made the mistake of pitting to early on my 1st stint but I only put enough fuel in for 13 laps. . I hadn't run soft tires until the start of the race. I could of done 15 laps on my 1st stint had I of put enough fuel in. Race 1 I settled in behind John and Nick keeping one eye on them battling it out hoping they would take each other out and at same time keeping and eye on Jeff as he was on my arse the whole race. Jeff that was some good racing bud!! On the closing laps Nick started put some serious pressure on John and then they had an incident which left the door open for me to get the win. Race 2 was more of the same until pit strategy came into play. After everything cycled out I found myself sitting in first with 6 laps to go with a 2.5 second lead over Dale. I really thought I had a good chance to win the race, but when my spotter kept telling me Dale was faster than me by .6 a lap I knew I was in trouble. Sure enough on the final turn on lap 26 I believe, I went wide and the Dale and Jeff train got around me which left me to trying to hold on to third. Dale that was the second race in row you chased me down like that, you definitely have your tire management figured out!! Good job and congrats on the win and to Jeff with a podium finish in both races. Can't wait for Winton!!

Watched the Queensland V8 Supercar race on Speed today and I think we had just as much great action as the real guys did! Jason, please do not penalize yourself for the bump in turn one. It was no problem at all and I was able to get going and did some spirited driving going from 25 the 14th before external issues (my stomach!) forced me into the pits. Its just a plain racing incident. God knows how many people I've bumped into while driving in this league! Race two I blew as I lead my first lap ever and then pitted and got busted for speeding. I double hit the rev limiter button and engaged it and disengeged it at the same time!
