Can you all do a few laps and let me know what you think about the grass and gravel? The gravel is really hard to get out of. If enough think it should be addressed I can issue a patch. Thanks.

Yes gravel(quick sand) will be a killer and the grass is like ice! I will obviously go with everyone else here but for me the off track excursions happen all to frequently with these cars and it almost a certain you will blow your engine as ( I think) Helios did during track night. Jim.

Yeah, even if you drop a wheel you're toast.

Just wondering, will the Mechanical Failures stay at normal? Might have to stick with the Javelin - if I push the 69 Mustang without redlining it the engine still overheats pretty fast... YIKES!!

I have to use Low TCS. The Challenger is almost impossible to drive without it. I also found that it was impossible to get out of the gravel.

Lets run event 1 like this and see if any issues arise. I was overheating in the exhibition but never blew up.

Engine fragility is part of the fun of HistorX. Some of these cars, you need to be quite gentle with your RPMs, especially during shifting. If you're overheating then stay away from the redline. Chris and I blew many a Ferrari engine during quali sessions at efnet but kept the magic smoke inside the engine during races. Turning down/off Mechanical Failures isn't true to the intent of the mod.

If I was over-revving the cars constantly, I wouldn't have posted my overheating concerns..

These cars will blow up even if the random mechanical failure is turned off.

I did a few laps in the #83 '69 Mustang and the only time I got the oil over 110 C was when I didn't lift over the main straight "jump". The VEH file lists optimal oil temp as 100 C and max safe oil temp as 110 C. I was hovering around 105 C when I was pushing it. How many laps did it take until you were overheating?

I was around 250 degrees Fahrenheit after like 2-3 laps without touching the redline AND lifting over the main straight "jump" with the AMC, Mustang, Camaro, and it all seems to go around 250-270+
