 Our second and last preseason exhibition will take place at Suzuka. Car choice is still open so here is your last chance to test. Please post up here if you plan to attend for planning purposes. The server will be up some time early next week. The race length and settings reflect what will be run during the season. I have fixed the Blue Flag settings so please report any drive-through penalties. It's a bit of a long night for some so we need to try to start on time. I have a question. Are the cars in this mod the same as far as power? The reason I ask is looking at liveracers Jeff is 7.7KPH faster than Kelly. Jeff is in a GTR and the rest of the drivers on live racers are either in the PRO or PAM cars and we are all about the same top speed between 253.8 and 256.9kph vs Jeff at 264.6kph.
Now Jeff has a best time of 205.850 vs. Kelly at 206.992 so just over 1 second faster than Kelly.
So I am just curious about the different classes and are the cars that much different in each class.

I've never driven anything but the Aston so I'm not to sure. i know i thought that at the glen race then. i figured out that Jeff missed the chi-cain. and got a really fast top speed. so i did the same and my top speed was real close to his. |

Through all the testing and exhibitions, we determined all of the cars are relatively equal. Jeff is just a friggin alien.  |

I've been meaning to check but haven't had the time. Jeff is one of the fastest here so it is hard to compare him to anyone. However, such a difference in top speed is difficult to achieve unless he has some secret way of coming off the turn before the straight. Easiest way is to have Jeff run one of the other Ferraris and tell us if he was able to get the same results (and we have to trust him ) I thought he also cut the chicane by mistake but every time I was on the server with him he was hitting those top speeds...it was legit for sure. Like Jason said, his real-life mini is actually a spaceship and he won't come out and admit it! |

Jeff is fast no doubt, but all the cars are very close in performance. My lap times aren't quite race pace as I've been experimenting with some different setups.
Race pace will be quicker for sure. I also know that quite often folks run very little fuel in the car while others run full race loads so that can cause a difference.
Basically I wouldn't be concerned about the equality of the cars as on any given day, any one of them can be on the podium.

Yeah I wasn't trying to take anything away from Jeff, I know he is fast and consistent and I figured Kelly was just not where he would be come race day. I was just curios about the top speed of the GTR vs the other cars. I figured all the cars were about the same and it would come down to setup and driver.

I think the F430 has less frontal area than most and running more revs & less downforce is also a contributing factor in the higher top speed. Combine that with a bloody fast driver and the difference is shocking |

At first I was running one of the Pro Ferrari's but someone claimed it before I did so I switched to the GTR one just because of the paint. I couldn't tell any difference when I switched but I didn't have much seat time in this series either. I may try to run a few laps with it now just to compare. But I have a sneaky feeling that a lot of drivers will be at or better than a 2:05.8 by race time!
I had posted a video of my best lap at Watkins, there was no damn chicane-cutting going on there!! Ha!
