That's right!
I couldn't help myself and so I jumped into another race at Lime Rock in the MX-5. I qualified second with a time of 1:01.686 after just a couple laps of quali. Started out nice and held position on lap one. Then, on lap two the leader lost it and wrecked hard coming out of west bend and on his way to the diving turn. Oddly enough, the guys behind me all wrecked at that same moment. I thought I heard something behind me but I thought "I ain't looking back". When I got on the front straight there was no one back there accept for one dude pulling into the pits. So I put my head down and focused on holding the lead for as long as I could. I did get passed once on lap 10 but it ended up being a back marker who had wrecked. I wasnt sure of that so I pushed to stay with him. It wasnt until lap 19, when the spotter announced "one more lap for the win", that I new for sure. What can I say? I wasnt the fastest but i stayed on track. I ended up holding the lead for 19 laps! Holy crap! It feels awesome.
I resisted the urge to buy Watkins Glen but I may breakdown because I now have a D license and a lot of the series races that I'm interested in are at that course.
All this just a couple of hours after my first podium. Sorry for the new thread but I'm psyched about the win. :-)

Nice going Snappy. Be careful, it can get to be an addiction. Believe me, I know. In just over a year I have had over 800 official races. And I had a couple of months off when I broke my leg.
Keep at it though. Those wins feel great. Like Zed said, you need to get the Skip Barber Formula 2000 and join us for some league races. You will find these races even more fun than the official races. Hope to see you on the track soon.

Thanks guys! Oh, I'm hooked now. I keep looking at all the content I "need" in order to run other races. I really like the Skippy so after I do a few more MX-5 races I'm going to jump in the Skippy and get some TTs in to get comfortable and build up my SR. It took a hit today in an official race at Lime Rock.
I will be joining you guys for the skippy race.

I got a second win at Watkins Glen! Same deal. There was a big pile up that I squeezed through and then I just kept my head down and held the lead. Still a long way to go to really be competitive but that's okay. Really enjoying iRacing.

Great job Snappy. Keep at it, sounds like you are doing great and having fun. Concentrate on running clean races and you will get promoted in no time.
I see you have a SR of 3.90. That is really close to getting your fast track promotion. If you have some time and want to make sure to get over that 4.00 mark, I would suggest running some time trials. You can gain about .005 SR per clean lap at Watkins Glen Classic in a time trial. So just go out and run 20 clean laps in a time trial and you should get your C license. That way nobody else can mess it up for you. Then you can go back to racing.

Well, I didn't read your post in time to follow that advice Jarhead. As a result I had a few trials and tribulations. My SR went up and down due to a few incidents here and there but I'm glad to say that today, 3-7-2014, I got a fast track promotion to C class on my Road Racing License. I think having done it in races and quails was tougher but I'm better off for it. I've had some really clean battles with other drivers and its been a blast. I'll be sticking with iRacing for sure. Time to start saving my coins. LOL
I'd like to start running a GBR paint scheme. It'd be great to represent this club.
