its windows lawyer they will always be exploited, hacked etc but funny thing is people have always told never use IE but in all the years ive been using it never had an issue and I go to some questionable sites lol Fair enough, but that doesn't mean its a good idea to just stick with an older OS, just because the newer one can also get exploited. Everyone to his own.

Windows 8.1 is no more secure then 7, so don't base anything off security. I do not agree. You sound like my older law partners that complained about us upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7. With very few exceptions, the newer stuff in technology is better than the older stuff. Whether Windows 8 is better than 7 is a debatable point, but there is no question that 8.1 fixed many of the interface issues that plagued Windows 8 and made it essentially a supersized version of Windows 7, with the latest bells and whistles as far as speed and security, but with the familiar, comfortable Windows 7 like interface. Also, what is not debatable is the fact that modern operating systems are more secure than older operating systems. Whether it is Apple, Android, Windows Phone, Chrome, you name it and the newer versions are better and more secure than the older operating systems. I have used Windows 7 and 8.1 extensively and although Windows 7 remains a solid OS (I still use it on my desktop PC), for a new computer, there is no question that 8.1 is the way to go. Windows 7 was released almost five years ago, in 2009. Calling it as secure or more secure than the newest Microsoft OS is just plain dumb. Also, if you don't believe me, take a look at what the so-called experts say: www.itpro.co.uk/desktop-software/21919/windows-81-vs-windows-7-which-is-best-for-youwww.techradar.com/news/software/operating-systems/windows-8-1-security-what-s-been-improved-1156705"Windows 7 is six times more likely to get infected than Windows 8 and Windows XP is 21 times more likely to be exploited." So basically your calling me dumb. I am not paid to tell people like you that newer is better. Those numbers they come up with are from the original OS release, they can't and wont tell you that all the updates to windows 7 security over the years makes it as secure as the new stuff. If they did, no one would buy the new OS. That's why they quit updates for xp, because people were running it and not upgrading. No upgrade=no money. In a few more years they'll do the same to Vista, then 7 and so on. And I was not putting down your beloved Win. 8.1. It dose have many improvements over 7, just not in the security department. When they make a new OS the security improvements are also used on older OS's that are still supported, such as Win. 7. That is why the updates keep rolling in. I was simply stating that if security is what he was looking for in an OS, that win 8.1 is no more secure then 7. But then your a Lawyer, and I'm just a hick from the south who deals in IT.

Heh, my studio computer is still running XP and as long as it works it will never be upgraded, the rig computer Win 7 and the same applies, the computer to come may run Win 8.1, unless it replacing the Studio machine, in that case it will be running an Apple operating system.

Quick update on all my new parts as I grabbed a few more Windows 8.1 I was a little lost at first finding my way around, but once I figured it Iam really happy with it.....love the modern look and layout and it's much faster than my old w7 os Combined with a samsung evo 840 120 gb ssd set to turbo speed I am booting to desktop in under 10 secs Asus p8z77-m is doing its job and very easy to setup. Corsair h100i extreme water cooler has my i7 2600 running nice and cool in the low 30c range R9 290 is a beast compared to my gtx 670 setting benchmark scores nearly double in dx11 3d mark. To add to the overkill the guy who sold me this is selling me a second one for the same price And Lastly I scored a thrustmaster tx 458 ferrari on ebay today which was a store demo for the launch of fm5 from a game stop with warranty for $220! Last on the list once I sell some of my old stuff will be the gte rim, th8rs shifter and a button box and I should be set for the foreseeable future.

Very cool kurupt, congrats on the upgrades, including the TX wheel. I am using my TX wheel right now on my PC and I think I like it better than my T500!!!!

I look forward to using it, the selling point was watching a few reviews and 3 of them all said they couldn't tell the difference between the t500 and tx and for the price I got at it was $400 less so I can't really complain
