The inaugural season of the GBR Blancpain Championship is in the books! I personally want to thank those who participated and made this a successful season. We may not have held onto all drivers but the ones that stuck it out made it truly special. The final standings could be found HERE. Of course, Season 1 was dominated by Brazilian Angelo dos Santos. He showed alien speed week in and week out with 12 wins, 13 poles, and ten fastest-laps. The Brazilian would not stand any lower than the second step for the duration of the season. Second place finisher Jeff Hooper would give him a run many weeks but they still finished 153 points away, mainly due to some unfortunate events affecting Hooper. Hooper would net four wins and seven fastest-laps. Missing the first race of the season certainly affected the distance between these two tough competitors. Third place finisher, Tony Harper, would finish another 152 points adrift of second. Harper would show some pace at certain tracks, including netting a win at COTA. Dale Green and Jason Hawks would round out the top five, with Green only the fourth driver to net a win. AWARDS Pole Sitter Award - Angelo dos Santos - 13 Fastest Laps Award - Angelo dos Santos - 10 Highest Climber Award - Chris Sherburn - 8 Top Participation Awards - Angelo dos Santos, Chris Sherburn, Ed Derbin (all completed every race)

Also - a second season may happen but it depends on a few things. If it doesn't happen right away...it may happen later. Regardless, I want to get feedback from you - including (especially) from those who did not participate much. I want to hear what you liked and what you didn't.
Some specific areas: - What did you think of the track selection?
- What about the race lengths?
- What could be done to make it better?
- What could we do to slow down the aliens?
Feel free to talk about anything!
Thanks again, all.

It took me a few races to figure out how to tune these car to my style. Once I stopped the rear end from passing me on corner exit I had a lot of fun. Well, it was fun until Angelo figured out fuel and tires I was able to steal that win at COTA before getting schooled for the rest of the season! I can't see much that needs to be changed... the track selection was perfect for these cars, the mod is solid. At one point I thought Tony, Chris and I were going to have an advantage on fuel usage as 45/90 min was the sweet spot for us but then Angelo and Jeff were able to make it work with the extra stop so in the end... fuel and race length were perfect for generating different strategies.

I thought the season was great as is. I only missed a few races because of Family Issues, had nothing to do with the series.
throw in a couple new tracks and lets do it again.

I think rewards weight helps keep things interesting and gives hope to the non aliens as the season progresses. I loved the season as it was though. My only suggestion, maybe move to the RF2 version. However, I have yet to renew RF2 and have not tried the Blancpain mod in that game either.

Not against the rF2 version, but I don't think there are enough tracks out yet to compliment the mod for a full season. Could be wrong, but I have not seen them.

There are a ton of rF2 tracks out there. They are just scattered around on the interwebs. That's where Rfactorcentral came in handy for rf1.
Just a matter of testing to make sure they are up to par (timing, real road, etc).

The big question is, how many are we going to loose if we do the jump? I'll be in either way, and I think most of those that were there at the end have rF2 so it'd probably a moot point anyways.

Thanks for the comments so far. I am going to take some time to test the rF2 version but as I understand it, it was a hodgepodge of cars pulled together. I only fear that the cars won't be balanced. I also think the track selection on rF1 is superior. Like I said, I will test and figure things out, but a second season in rF1 wouldn't hurt.

Yeah, it's not like rF1 is lacking in anything important.

I've certainly got no qualms running a second season in rF1.
