For the GID plug-in (gives map, timing, fuel, wife's menstrual cycle, etc), the URL is posted below... rfactorcentral doesn't have the newest version so you have to go to this Italian site which is the homebase for fazerbox who wrote the plugin. Install 1.1.1 and then 1.1.1a patch. CAUTION: this doesn't work with some mods but works with all our current GBR mods I believe. It also doesn't work if you're running multi-monitors with SoftTH (if you don't know what that is, then you don't have it). Also, it uses a gazillion keys for control that may override some other mods (for example when I change the smoothing in Real Feel it also changes my map display). Please test before you enter a race so you know what to expect and change any key bindings if needed. Also, read the manual that comes with GID. You will have a hard time setting it up without reading the Quick Start section. www.rfactoracingweb.it/rfactor/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=26&view=viewcategory&catid=4

Avoid 1.1.2 for now. It crashes rFactor on exit. I've reported the issue to the developer. Other people have reported it too.

I tried the GID app a while ago (albeit not this version) and soon as I'd start "race", rFactor would instantly crash to the desktop. I didn't have any other mapping mods loaded or anything and didn't feel like troubleshooting the issue so I just let it be. The new version crashing on exit does not inspire much confidence. Cheers!

You could also try rFDynHUD. I found its out-of-the-box initial configuration to be a PITA though. I was able to get up and running with GID instantly. Luckily fazerbox is fast to respond to issues with his release. 1.1.1 was quickly followed by 1.1.1a. 1.1.1a was pretty flawless for me. I can't race without it now... I'll put up with its quirks. One thing I already like about 1.1.2 is it flashes sector/lap times for a few seconds then they fade away. Nice touch. It's similar to how iRacing does sector timing. Also, happy, happy joy-joy, 1.1.2 works with Historix GT.

Are you running EVGA PrecisionX, RivaTuner or a similar monitoring/overclocking app?
Have you read the Install instructions? There's a PDF buried in the RAR file. You must read and follow the instructions carefully (including the part about installing some libraries).
Are you using any other plugin that required you to install a custom d3d9.dll?

Eva = EVGA Precision? If so, because GID uses a custom d3d9.dll you have to work around that. EVGA Precision and GID do not get along when both are fighting to overlay information on the D3D surface. You have two options:
1) Disable all EVGA Precision OSD functions. If you see the icon in the systray that looks like a framecounter (some sort of icon with a 60 on it) then you haven't disabled everything (including deselecting the display on OSD option in the dialog that lists all the parameters you can show).
OR
2) Check the option in EVGA Precision that says something like "Allow custom DirectX", if there is one.
Readme? No idea what you're referring to there. My official release of GID has a release note in the package that has no install instructions. Install instructions are in the RAR (and unpacked in your rFactor directory) at Plugins\GID\Docs\GIDv1_1_ENG.pdf.

I know I'm late to the party but finally got around to installing 1.1.1a . I had originally tried an install way back when I first started on my low end laptop and the result was horrible so I avoided it like the plague.
Well I have been wanting more information and customized to where I wanted it on screen, etc. So today I backed everything up and installed it on the V8 mod. No issues at all and I'm really happy with the result.
Anybody experience any issues or "gotchas" with:
Enduracers NAGT Saleen Mustang PMSC
Thought I would check before copying over the GID files from my V8 install and tweaking for FOV.
Cheers!

The only mod you need to worry about AFAIK, is HistorX. 1.1.2 is necessary for that mod.

After using the plugin for over 1.5 years I just learned something new. Triple monitor users... do your side monitors flicker (like and old CRT with the horizontal hold shot) when you're in the garage? I think it's a glitch related to rF ignoring the side monitors when you're at the UI screen. Look at the top of the gidconf.ini (or whatever it's called... I'm not at my gaming PC) file. There is an entry for "flickering mode". Mine was set at 2. Setting to 0 fixed the flicker for me. I'm seizure-free in 2013 now!
