Sorry some of you can't make it. Hopefully we'll have a decent grid like the Daytona race.
And Happy BDay! My daughter's was yesterday so we are going out to dinner tonight. Didn't want to venture out in the snow covered streets.
See you all later.

Don't worry David, they wont kick you out for missing one race.. The second one though... you'll need signed documentation of why you missed it.

To me race was interesting until the PitStop. The pace of me, Tony, Boza and Jeff was very close. For what I saw Tony went one way in strategy, Jeff and Boza another. My plan was something in between those options. But on my Pit, there were a lot of cars parked there, making impossible for me to reach my spot. By the time I manouvred and figure out a way of my crew work, the engine was way too hot, and it blew shortly after I rejoined the track. With strategy playing a heavy part on this series, I think is important have tracks where we can avoid this. I can only hope.

Here's an interesting look at fuel usage. I averaged the per lap fuel usage from LiveRacers (not counting lap 1 and pit stop laps). This shows the differences in driving style and boost usage.
Jeff is the gas guzzler in the group. Sheldon is the Prius eco-hippy... combined with the larger fuel tank in the Viper means he can do an amazing 12 laps more on a full tank than Jeff!!!!
%/lap L/lap laps on full tank Corvette - 90 L tank Jason 4.80 4.32 20.83 Dale 5.29 4.76 18.90 Ferrari - 90 L tank Jeff 6.51 5.86 15.36 Boza 4.76 4.28 21.01 Tony 5.00 4.50 20.00 Ed 4.72 4.25 21.19 Porsche - 90 L tank David 5.16 4.64 19.38 Chris 5.09 4.58 19.65 Bear 4.92 4.43 20.33 Aston - 90 L tank Jimmy 5.10 4.59 19.61 Viper 97 L tank Dan 4.27 4.14 23.42 Sheldon 3.67 3.56 27.25 Angelo 4.95 4.80 20.20

Sorry for your issues, Angelo. I hope you don't have issues in the future. I'd love to test every possible scenario when selecting tracks but that is simply impossible.
That's interesting, Dale. After the first pit I went into fuel savings mode for a while. I built up a cushion and started pushing more in the last 10 minutes of the race.

I went with a full tank and soft tires. 30mins in and my tires were shot and I was out of fuel, so it worked out perfectly. The only issue I had was I know i specifically turned off repair damage, yet when I went into the pits I had 76 sec worth of damage to fix.
I know Dale mentioned something about hitting something going into the pits so that must have been it. Also Dan and Ed mentioned the same thing. Very strange if it is some sort of glitch entering the pits.
I still had a great time. Thanks Dave!

Awesome race for the first half. We had a 4 car train running up to just before pit stops. Had a blast racing w/ you Dave, Sheldon & Jimmy. Then after the pit stop I came out just behind Dave...then pushed too hard to try to catch him and stuffed it in the wall...dropping me down the order when I had to pit for aero damage. Ah well, next time.

Because of the chatter about mystery damage I was looking at my pit menu before entering pit lane then I felt the hit and was able to quickly turn damage off.

That's interesting, Dale. After the first pit I went into fuel savings mode for a while. I built up a cushion and started pushing more in the last 10 minutes of the race. That is pretty well what I did. With 10 laps left I turned the boost to 3 and started closing on Hawks. Unfortunately lapped traffic came into play and Hawks got through it a lot faster than I did and I lost the ground I made up. So, my fuel strategy didn't gain me anything.

Fun race guys, that was another strategy race that kept people guessing. Sorry to those that had issues like Angelo having what appeared to be a shared pit stall with another viper. Turning off the engine once refueling had begun would have prevented the overheat but still lost a lot of time waiting for a free pit box. I short shifted the entire race and had fuel left in the tank when I pitted with 29 minutes left and finished with 3 laps worth. Medium tires was definitely the right choice if tire wear can be managed effectively.
Interesting data above Dale, thanks.
Thanks to all that made it, great job everybody. Cheers.

Pit stall assignment is something that frustrates me in rF1 and rF2. I think rF2 will handle this better. Really, league admins need an option that overrides the track configuration files and just assigns each driver who enters the pit lane to stalls in the sequence: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16... etc.
