Damn, just looked at the replay, I owe David McConnell a big apology. I punted him off the track in the first kink after the start and didn't even know it. I'm really sorry about that bud.

Had fun last night. Did far better than I was expecting, though admittedly I caught a huge break with Rich's fuel mapping issues. Thanks Rich! Just tried to keep the car steady and save the tires throughout the race. The rears were starting to get a little greasy the last couple laps, but for the most part it all went to plan. I was expecting Dale to be nearby when I exited the pits...since we seem to run similar strategy more times than not. Grats to Angelo for the win, and to Boza for keeping him honest!

On about lap 9 I messed up the hairpin at turn 1 and lost my front splitter. I was able to limp around 2 more laps before I needed to pit for fuel and tires (i was running softs). I got my repairs and just hoped to keep 8th place but then noticed how much time was left and my fuel level. I was not going to be able to have enough fuel for a one stop so had to get a splash of fuel and was still in 8th. Then I start to see Dale's time drop and I am catching him. I thought I ran out of time but we had 1 more lap to go and I was able to catching him in sector 3 and really start harrassing him. I figured his tires were gone and I was able to squeak by at the last second to get a to 5.
I am going to start looking at conserving fuel for this car because I barely made it 11 laps on a full tank while others lasted 15-16 laps on 1 tank.

Terrible race for me. No practice, no strategy. I just loaded my Brno tune and jumped in. During the race I was battling with guys that had picked softer tires which made me eat up tires and fuel so the last 1/2 of the race was a little painful Then I start to see Dale's time drop and I am catching him. I thought I ran out of time but we had 1 more lap to go and I was able to catching him in sector 3 and really start harrassing him. I figured his tires were gone and I was able to squeak by at the last second to get a to 5. With about 20 minutes to go I bounced off the wall at T1. I was losing at least 2 seconds a lap managing bent steering and maybe no ft. aero. That caused me to ignore my fuel which I then needed to take it easy for about 6 laps to conserve. I was like the wounded gazelle that gets left behind for the lions to take down.

I lost concentration and went off in the right hand sweeper right before the pit entrance somewhere around lap 10, maybe earlier. I flattened the left rear in the process. Luckily the pit entrance was right there but it ruined my strategy. I was barely going to be able to one stop it but that really screwed me. New medium tires and a full tank, knowing I would need to stop again, I turned up the wick.
I stopped with 10 minutes to go and turned the boost up. Was lucky to get by Dale with about a lap to go and then Rich have us all the kind gift.
I like forcing pits but I find it hard to make it on one stop!

I had a decent race as far as driving, but I just didn't have any speed. From the very first practice I couldn't find any speed. I switched from the Ferrari to the Corvette on Monday or Tuesday and found a little hope. I still wasn't happy with my times, but just made the best of it last night. Hopefully things will get better as the season goes along. I was pretty much alone most of the race till the leaders started to lap me. I did a 1 stopper. My soft tires held up very good and my fuel calculation was perfect thanks to MoTec. As usual, another great night of racing.

I need to remember to set the fuel up and to shut the motor off during long pistops. Overheated and she went BOOM. Will be better prepared for next time. And someone needs to get Bear set up before next race...

Long version of this track looks like lots of fun! Wish we could find that version. I went and downloaded 4 versions of the track that I could find, and all of them were the same version we have here. None had that extra long section.

This is easiy one of the top 3 best races I had here at GBR. The fight with Boza was hard and intense all race long, even with some controversial moments! The battle went pretty much to the line, which is fantastic given how rewarding and hard this track is. Rich was damn fast on Qualy, but on race pace and with strategy in place things get a little more complicated. Im happy to be on the good side of this game this time. Happy with this Win. Was a hard fought one!
