Great night of racing!
Was nice have a front row view of the great battle between the aussies in race 1 and even mix up a little bit with them, taking a fantastic 2nd place. That was really nice. In race 2 I had a agressive strategy but got involved in a accident in lap 1, dropping to dead last and loosing something like 12secs or so. After that I think I had my best performance yet here at GBR. Was great fun slice through the field to take 4th at the end. Without the accident Im sure I could had give our mateys a nice fight. This was good, because I didnt expect a shot after their domination in Qualy. Definetly they have the upper hand on those cars and australian tracks. Will be very difficult to keep up.
Congratulations to Colin and Kurt for their Wins this night.

I've struggled a bit in the V8s the last few seasons. Maybe it's been my focus on HistorX that's messing with me but damn these Aussies have set a new benchmark. I'm 4 seconds a lap off of them. I can not even begin to guess where I'm losing 4 seconds. It's time to take a hard look at my driving style, I think.
The racing itself seemed to go well enough and it was great to have some new drivers and also old drivers reappearing. Congrats to the podiums.

Had a bad night last night, really should not have raced , was in a very pissy mood because of health concerns and work. Being stressed never works . Lol Won't make the next race but hopefully be back for the one after. Jim PS Sorry again Angelo and anyone else whose race I disrupted.

Sorry again for the scare (and any contact I may have made) when I missed the braking point in R1. I knew I wasn't going to stop w/o plowing into the cars in front of me, so when I saw the hole to shoot the car through I floored it hoping to get clear before everyone else turned in for the corner. Race 2 went better, but I still kept missing the same corner for the first few laps. If it wasn't for that I probably could've held off Scott and maybe caught Dale. Still not sure if I would've done better running softs or not...as I was definitely closing the gap down to Dale in the last 5 laps or so. I still think the no stop was the better strategy for me, since I'm slow enough that I wasn't burning as much fuel. See you next week at Adelaide in the P2s.

Looking at the results, I guess I won my class in both races.
I just had a terrible time in quali. Was no where near my practice times. I wasn't feeling very good starting 12th. I just decided to take it easy at the start of race 1 and settle in. Had a great battle with Dan. Just kept him in sight, not that I could catch him, but I could hang right there. Then towards the end I did catch him and we had a great race. If it wasn't for his mistake at the last turn, I'm not sure which one of us would have taken the class win. One thing I can say is you can run wheel to wheel with Dan and not worry about it. Race 2 was another good one. I just tried to hold my own till my first stop. Then I heard Dan say he couldn't go on and I was on my own. I finally caught up to Chris and we had a great battle. Another racer you can run wheel to wheel with. At the end one mistake by Chris and I was by him. Took 9th. Decent points. Great racing.

Race one was a blast, I had Scott keeping pace a few second or so back, and the tires were doing OK. But at the end I had a car come up on me pretty quick, and at first I thought it was Scott finally putting the pressure on, so I picked up the pace and heated up my tires just to find out it was Jeff. After that it was real hard to keep pace with Scott as he came up on me. But it was a fantastic run to the finish.
I really wanted to run the second race, but my shoulder was getting so sore I couldn't shift right, and I kept getting the wrong gear and spinning, so I hung up the towel so to speak.
Mon. the 13th I get the staples out, so I'm hoping 90% of the fatigue and pain goes with them. We shale see next Wednesday.

I didn't know you had an injury Dan. If I did know I would have pushed you harder! Just kidding. Hope you feel better by next week.

18 racers and 23 people put laps on the server... it's good to see some life in the league again! Absolutely. And it's summer too which typically lowers our numbers, so taking that as a good sign. Also thanks to the RSM guys for joining in.
