Great race tonight guys, But man is my shoulder sore, to much shifting. Again, Dale that was a really good tune for me, no pit stop and finished with 60%+ on front and just under 50% on the rears, that's unheard of for me. And to run 15's and 16's for most of the race... Needless to say, but that was one of my most enjoyable runs in a long time.

Interesting night for me. I hadn't practiced at all (in fact, I forgot about this race and only downloaded the track at about 5:45) and was going to skip it but when I got home, my wife was playing LEGO:Hobbit so I figured I'd run some practice and my laptimes were OK so why not race? Just then I decided to do some setup tweaks (less ft. camber, softer springs and moved some slow damping between front to rear) and it all clicked for me.
So basically, I pulled a Sherburn.
Kurt was in a class of his own but Angelo, Hawks and I were running very similar lap times so I could never really relax.

Never felt confortable on this track, so Im happy with 2 third places. Every 20 laps or so at this place, I start to feel like get out and take a walk in open space, breathe some fresh air....lol Friggin claustrophobic place!
Dale was very strong today, and in Race 1 we both got beaten by Kurt, which is pretty standard. Race 2 was more chaotic, I took the leader in the first few laps, and engaged I huge fight with Kurt. I was going over the edge trying to keep him behind, and was only a matter of time for a mistake. When it happened, Dale was there to take advantage aswell. Then Kurt didnt dissapear in front of us, so pretty much all the remaining of the race Dale put some pressure on him with me playing the watching dog. As it turn out, Kurt was just saving tires, and on the last lap he embarassed us all with a time that must be his 10th or so Pole Position of the event!
Anyway, good fun, but Im happy to leave this track behind.

No worries Jim. I figured it was a long race and it was an accident. I had more fun than I expected. Last time we raced here I did not fair so well. With this group I will take two fifth place finishes anytime.

Jason you and Dale kill me. I work for days on my setup just so I can even get close to you guys. Literally I have 8 saved setups just for this track and you guys are like: I just tweaked a few things and it clicked, Dale tells us he just decided to go in a different direction with his tune and it worked. For me , I need a lot more time than that lol, so when we do decide which MOD give me about a months notice, please. Jim

Ha, you don't know how bad my starting tune sucked here! Besides, if you'd been at Barbagallo then you and I would be locked in a points battle right now.
The thing about this (or any sim) is you eventually develop a list of tweaks that usually work to solve a handling issue for most mods. Once you have that toolbox of tricks available to get a tune close, it's a matter of fractions of seconds (and diminishing returns) for any further tuning.

I know what your saying about tunes, my point is I spend way too much time on them. Mostly because I am learning the track as well, I have to go back and check to see if was the change I made or my learning some way quicker around the track. Just one more reason to get more involved with another series. Tony sorry you missed it

I went to bed Wednesday night feeling fine. I woke up about 2am with some stomach pain. Ended up going to the ER and had my appendix removed Thursday evening. 42 years old and that was my very first surgery. I'm pretty sore but seems like all went well.

Thanks Jim. My 42 year streak of no surgery is over.
