Great racing last night! I don't know what was going on with me Tuesday night or even Wednesday night before the race, I was going off track and was having a hard time being consistent. But as soon as race 1 started everything was working great for me. I was happy I didn't loop it going up the hill on turn 5 or turn 6 in either race.
Congrats to Angelo and everybody on the podium.

Had a really good night for me last night, especially in Race 2. I'm not usually running at the front (I'm a mid-packer), so I was on cloud 9 when I realized I was running down Rich and had a really good shot at a podium. A spin coming off the final corner around lap 25 or so negated any chance I had for clearing Rich and seeing if I could run down Angelo. I was fortunate to recover 3rd and apply some pressure to Rich for 2nd in the last couple laps...but the rear breaking loose again while to the inside ruined the run down the back straight and any further chance at attempting a pass.
Hell of a night. Thanks to everyone that came out.

Well, I know I certainly benefitted from a bad night for Jeff. He went off solo (it appeared) in R1 then seemed to get helped off in R2.
No joke, at 7:05 I was just waking up. We have this blanket on the sofa that has napping superpowers and I made the mistake of pulling it onto myself at 6:00 "for just a few minutes". Anyway, I stumbled off the sofa, put on my shoes, grabbed a beer and settled in figuring I'd just drive laps just for the points.
I was pretty surprised with the decent finishes. Luckily I know the track well and my Pukekohe tune was good enough for here.
Race 1, I don't remember much. I think Jeff and I traded some paint in the first few corners (I definitely heard something in my headphones but didn't feel it) but that's V8 racing on a tight track and we kept it under control. A few laps later Jeff went off and I just managed the gap back to the next cars and got comfortable with the car/track for Race 2.
Race 2, I didn't know what would happen with tires so my plan was to protect tires for the first 20 laps then drop the hammer for the remaining laps. In the end, I should've started pushing with 30 to go because (with tire wear to spare) I caught up to Chris and Rich just as they started fighting on the final laps.

Great racing fellows, thanks to everyone that came up. I had 2 great races. First one fighting with a agressive Rich for the win at the sprint race. Lots of trade paints. On the second one was a different matter. I paced myself for most of the race looking after the tires, while Jason and Rich were at it for the lead. With Rich sliding and locking a lot fighting to keep his position, I knew that tires issues were almost certain for him. This played into my hands after lap 20 or so...when I decided to attack him and Jason. Was a really fun battle. Shame that Jason made a mistake and dropped back. After squeeze my way through Rich at T1 I never look back. To be honest Im surprised about win so many races. Last V8 season although I was the Champion, I didnt manage a single race win (which was odd, a Champ without a win...)...so yeah, its good!
