Sooo much crying in the forum that it's not oval related it's ridiculous. Admittedly it'd be pretty cool to see them roll out a historic Stock Car to follow this. I wouldn't mind seeing an '80s-'90s Thunderbird.  I can only imagine what Twitter is like..... Stoked to see this car though!  |

I imagine the modeling of AWD in this car is an incremental step towards rallycross and other #dirt content. Easier to get AWD right with the mature pavement track first.

Pretty cool but I'll only buy it when I really need it (if that ever happens)
The comments on Facebook are as I would expect. Not dirt or oval so the sky is falling.

I definitely don't need it. But those cars are from the era that I really got sucked into road racing. Flame throwing, flared fendered, roaring beasts tend to leave an impact on an impressionable young lad. |

Meh,
It's a great car and all but i was expecting something different. A porsche or Ferrari license. Not this. Kind of strange. I wont be buying it butni hope folks enjoy it. I wonder what Part 2 will be about. Any guesses..?

Why can't they finish Long Beach? One of my favorite tracks. They've never come out and said it but my guess is: - too expensive to model the buildings and - too complex for the DX9 codebase... remember how COTA used to struggle when the tower was in view or Spa when Eau Rouge was visible out of T1. I think the old code just sucked at any far detail more complex than horizon and a few trees... i.e., anything that couldn't be rendered flat. |

The more I think about it, Long Beach makes some sense as a Part 2 surprise next week. It goes with the IMSA GTO cars. Maybe all the modelling got done as a multi-year side project and with DX11 the default now, the code is ready?

Since there isn't a race tonight, would you guys be interested in a Long Beach monkey around session? I could put one up after I get home for a couple hours. Probably around 6:15 PDT.
If so, let me know which cars you would be interested in running as I know not everyone plans on getting the 90 GTO.

I hope they finish it. I don't care if the surrounding structures were modeled inaccurately, just finish it. However the wreck fests would be nuts there.
I hope killing DX9 also gives us day/night transitions.
