With there being no V8 race tonight...anyone fancy turning some laps in the official practice servers for a bit?

Sorry I missed last night's Porsche cup race. I got home from work to late. What serie s are you looking to run the practice session for?
Would anyone be interested in running the fixed RUF cup race at 9pm or 11pm EST? It's a fixed series and it's at Daytona circa 2007.

Would anyone be interested in running the fixed RUF cup race at 9pm or 11pm EST? It's a fixed series and it's at Daytona circa 2007. It'll be a practice session for the Porsche GT3 Cup series. It's on the Ring 24HR layout, which makes for a nice free practice session w/ other cars. With there being no V8 race tonight...anyone fancy turning some laps in the official practice servers for a bit? What time will you be on? I'll try and jump on Probably between 6:30 & 7pm PDT. I think I decided I'm going to call the paint good enough, so I'll be sending it out to the 2017 24HR participants as a commemorative prize. I'll try to do that before I hop on.

Hey guys, being that there are seven of us I am going to sit this one out. Between work and the issues I'm having with the car I picked up a couple of weeks ago my mind is shot. Sorry for the late notice. Kick some ass!

All good Dave, we'll catch you on the next one.
I'll be absent for the early stages of the race, as the annual model show in Seattle is on Saturday. However I was able to switch days for work, so I will be around for the second half as I'll be working on Friday now, instead of Sunday.

I'll be setting up a practice session on Tuesday following the official 6:45pm PDT GT3 Cup race. We need to establish how long the car will run on fuel so we can decide who wants to run single and double stints. Initial guess is we may be able to run nearly 1:20 on a tank. If so, that means for a long double stint around this track. Just some food for thought.

There are official practice sessions now so there is plenty of opportunities to practice this week. All of us have run several endurance races now, so we should be good to go on driver swaps. I haven't driven this car much. What are the in car adjustments we can make to fine tune the setup when driving? I'm sure we can adjust brake bias. Anything else like ARBs, ABS, TCS?

I know the car doesn't have ABS. I believe it doesn't have TC either, but I don't recall for certain.
Forgot about official practice sessions...those will suit fine for our needs.

Tomorrow is the big day fellas! This track is unique and very unforgiving. So here are some tips to remember... - Keep your pace to what is comfortable. A 9:10 lap for 8 laps is faster than 7 8:30 + a wreck + a tow + repairs. - Try not to get too embroiled in battles. The car is very easy to overdrive, especially at this track. The last thing you want to do is slide wide and off an Armco in the heat of the moment. - The Porsche potentially has a higher top speed than the R8. If you find yourself on a long straight w/ an R8, just cruise behind them (assuming they are turning faster lap times overall) down the straight...even if it means only running 3/4 throttle. We'll lose less time doing that, then watching the mirrors in the twisty bits trying to guess when the R8 is going to try to pass. - We will have an accident at some point in the race. Try not to get too flustered. Regain your thoughts, and check your relative screen before pulling back out and rejoining. Don't make the situation worse by pulling out in front of another car. Drive the car back if you can maintain control at mediocre speed. If the steering is out of whack and uncontrollable unless you are crawling, just take the tow. Hopefully they won't amount to anything more than a graze w/ the Armco only resulting in optional repairs. - If you have optional repairs during the pitstop, take them. We may decide to override that decision if it's the last stop and we are in a close battle with another car. But through the early stages of the race, it's not worth risking blowing an engine to try bypassing 1 minute worth of optional repairs. - Most importantly.....HAVE FUN!

We definitely had a bit of a rough go of it this year. Some difficulties overnight saw to keeping us out of the top 10. We did eventually crawl back up to 15th place at the end though. As rough as our race was.....it was even worse for all the Audis but 1.
