I understand that rubbin is racing and there is going to be some contact, but please tell me if this was a good clean pass.

I need to know right now...are filing a formal protest? If you feel you were wronged and want this matter looked at then pm me. Evidence indicates you have the right to. Keep in mind though Spazcar is a little more forgiving on those situations as its the only mod we have that offers continuous side by side action and full course cautions. There are 3 stewards in this series you can file a complaint with.

I'm not filing any protest. I just want to get clarification on what is an acceptable pass. The way I learned was to either get a good run out of a corner and make the pass on the straight or out brake into a corner. When doing either of those methods, some side to side contact is usually involved. But to push someone out of the way from behind and send them into the wall doesn't seem like a clean way to pass.
I have been spun out several times in Spazcar. The week at Martinsville is understood because the corners are so tight and its easy to go too hot into a corner and lock up your brakes and hit someone from the rear. But Rockingham didn't even require brakes, just a slight lift of the gas. There were very few cautions and the racing was mostly clean and close.

In my opinion, In vids 1&2 it looks as if you moved up the track and He seen a hole and went for it as you came back down.
In vid 3, It looks as if he really did not have the room, and should not have tried the pass. But we don't see from that perspective while racing. So I would have to go with my first impressions from vids 1&2 and say it was a clean attempt and you shut the door a bit late. Just my opinion.

Ok was just checking, because all 3 stewards would have to review it and make a judgement before Tuesdays race. And that is not alot of time. I'll have to check but I do believe i have stipulated that all protest need to be filled within 24 or 48 hours. Hmmm might good time to review my own policies..lol

I have to agree with the line being taking away + an aero push factor more likely +... we still getting used to how close we can actually run with these. But then that's why there are cautions and I try very hard to keep us close together and no man a lap down It was close racing, think Stinky saw an opening and tried for it. I'm sure he learned from it and prolly won't try it again.

Like I said I never intended to file a protest or get anyone penalized. If I had wanted a protest, I would have said something immediately after the race.
I just want to find out what is considered clean racing. I was running very competitive lap times on that race and felt I was running a clean line. I wasn't all over the track trying to block anyone. If someone is clearly faster than me, I won't try to block them from passing me. I will run my line and if they find a way around me, I will let them go.
Like you said Spaz, we are still learning the trucks and what we can get away with as far as the close racing. I just wanted to put this out there before the next race to find out what is considered clean racing. I don't believe the spin was intentional, but I do think it may have been a little over aggressive.

Firstly, I never intentionally wreck someone. Oval racing is tight and one wrong move will send someone around. Secondly, in this incident, I saw a hole and went for it. You came off the corner lower than I thought you would and we got together. Again, nothing intentional at all. I do apologize though. Hopefully you won't ever have to call me a "mother fucker" again.

This is the view from my cockpit. I had an opening and was clearly under and stayed on the white line all the way through and off the exit of the corner. If you watch my wheel you can see that I was cranking it left to stay off of you. You were squeezing me down to protect your position and more than likely, I would have done the same damn thing if the positions were reversed.

It actually took this view (when i reviewed it that night) for me to see what happened and decide on it to be a racing incident. Just an fyi guys. After the races i check a) that the replay is valid- if not i start pestering you guys for yours. b)I also jot notes during a race if there is anything questionable and go back to those points. I know i don't capture the replays until months later, however i do review them to make sure there is no obvious foul play. Case in point, Martinsville, where everyone EXCEPT Timber hit Jarhead, it was all from over driving or late breaking. Not the greatest thing , but at least it wasn't straight out malicious. If you are the aggressor in a questionable, sizeable situation, you will be notified by me or one of the stewards via PM and you will have a chance to have your say before penalties for said infraction on are voted on by all the Spazcar Race Stewards. Remember Spazcars' rules vary slightly from GBR's due to the nature of the sport.

Guys, I do a lot of iRacing, and as you guys know, it gets pretty heated in there. Part of what attracted me to Spazcar, however, is that its more casual. Yes, we have rules and as one of the Stewards, I will help Spaz enforce those rules. But, I am not interested in doing this series if it becomes overly serious. I do not agree with calling out Stinky, nor do I agree with calling him a "mother fucker". GBR is a good natured, fun group of guys. Lets keep it that way. All of you, including Jarhead and Stinky, are good, clean racers.

In the above videos, I saw an accident and that is all.
The hole looked to be there, but it wasn't or didn't end up being there. None of us have a camera mounted on the front or rear bumper looking sideways so we can see if we are clear. As such, stuff like this will happen. Neither person really did anything but act competitively.
Should you pass in corners? If there's room, pass wherever the hell you think you can pull it off without wrecking you and the other guy. That's the key, they don't want to be wrecked and you should want to avoid wrecking them.
This being said, I wasn't there, I don't really race ovals either, so I may be speaking out of turn. However, I am always a competitor and I know the thoughts going through Jarhead's head at the time. I've been there many times and it's aggravating as hell. You want to yell at someone for messing with you. My only advice is to have a conversation man to man and work it out. It's not up to us and there's no "vindication" necessary on either "side." If the day ever comes that someone here intentionally wrecks someone in a competitive race, that is the day it's ok to yell at them.

I use PTT for just that reason, I have let out some choice words in the heat of the moment, but only my wife hears them...If I feel wronged I have a rule, never post on the day. Ninety nine time out of a hundred by day two I have calmed down and put it behind me and am thinking about the next race. Also it is likely as much my fault as the supposed villain, race craft is as much about avoiding incidents as winning races. When all is said and done we are playing a game, no-one gets hurt, no cars are irreparably damaged and life goes on.

I use that for all of my PC online racing now (cannot do it in Forza and GT5).
