Keep your eyes open Zed. There will likely be another F1 AfterParty following the PMSC race on the 31st.

I may run an exhibition on a Monday night as well, in April. I believe S2 of the DRMs is up at the end of March, and I will likely hold out on S3 until the next V8 season is squared away.

F1Fan's mentioned a couple of times that this mod knackered his rF installs on his server. Makes me nervous to install it.

YMMV, I suspect the plugins included with this mod don't play well with others. Not only did it stuff up my server, but installed locally the game would crash as soon as I pulled into the pitlane.
No one else here has s problem with this mod so I don't know if it's wise to avoid it because of me. I could take the time to track down the issue but F1 mods aren't a priority for me.

Why would we run a rFactor 1 mod when the rFactor 2 F1 is second to none and ready to rock and roll? We can run the ISI Formula, and do the great F1 tracks the sim already has, including Malaysia, Portugal, Silverstone, Monte Carlo and Monza. Heck, we also could run Mills Metropark and Palm Beach.

I was thinking the same actually...as long as we can get a reliable host. I just saw Helios bumping and wanted to bring it up. I prefer to focus on rF2. I was testing the Williams F2 car and I liked that as well. I need to try the F-Renault next.

The post was bumped because I had the server up last week on Thursday night, and John Nelson was asking about where the mod was.
And Craig, do you always feel the need to bash on rF1? I know it's not a new shiney, but really?

Sorry, Chris. I didn't mean to stir the pot. I was just nervous about installing the mod. I downloaded it and it's sitting waiting for install if you host this again.

No worries, you didn't stir anything up. You had legitimate concerns you wanted more info on before installing. It's definitely one you want to do a separate install for. There is an RFE plugin that I have to take out and put back in on the server end to prevent mismatches when I switch between the mods.

And Craig, do you always feel the need to bash on rF1? I know it's not a new shiney, but really? No buddy, I do not always feel the need to bash rFactor 1. To the contrary, I have run the Sandrox mod and it is good fun. It also has some upside over the rFactor 2 F1 racing, including licensed content and of course greater access to a wider variety of tracks. That being said, the FFB and physics in rFactor 2 are a step up from rFactor 1 and it really shows in the rFactor 2 F1 content. We have run the rFactor 2 F1 content several times now in exhibition events and we had a blast, including most recently at Silverstone. I also would note that we currently have GBR rFactor 1 events 6-7 days per week and 0 rFactor 2 events 0 days per week. Since the rFactor 2 F1 is so dialed in, this struck me as a good opportunity to get a regular rFactor 2 series going.
