From Racedepartment.com:
SimBin made an announcement today that owners with a retail copy of GTR, GTR2 and/or GT Legends can now add a digital version of their games to the Steam platform, free of charge. The games have been released years ago and especially the last two still have an active following today.

Ooo, gonna need to figure out how to do that. Got my GTL kicking around. Would actually like to try it for the single player career. I keep thinking of trying GTR2, it's got some aspects I'd like to check out...but I just realistically don't have the time.

What does that mean? I added GT Legends to Steam, but I don't see a difference???

I suppose the main benefit is not having to put the disk in the system every time you want to play. I'm at the wrong PC to test but I imagine there's a one time disk check when you first start the game? It'll also simplify things for people wanting Win7 compatible games... no need to mess with the old procedure of sending a photo of your discs.

I've been reading you guys talk about Steam but can't figure out what it is. Is it a place to buy software digitally or is it more complicated than that? Some sort of subscription? Sorry for the newb-like question.

Sorry for the newb-like question. Yes, its the leading digital distribution platform for PC games. I love it. Sent from my HTC One X using proboards

It is most of the time excellent and loads of bargains, now and then it will feck up an update, the recent Race 07 cock up being a classic example. But I do like the 75% off sales.

I did not need to download the Steam version of GT Legends, since I already had done the GT Legends Revival program and got the code for the digital version that I downloaded directly from Simbin's online store.

So it seems that some cars are missing from the download. Porsche and Ferrari maybe, due to licensing. If you have a retail disc then you should be able to drag-and-drop the folders.
If you're buying the "full" game via Steam then one may have to search the intertubes (or ask a GBR homie) for that missing content.

Sounds like the DVD is going to be the way to go. If I don't get my Porsches, what's the point? ;D
