How you make a grumpy Helios...

1. Start off with a crappy day at work.
2. Say screw it, pull the trigger and purchase GTR2 & iRacing along with downloading GTL.
3. Go to take a test drive and find the wheel & pedals aren't recognized in game (GTR2).
4. Try GTL...same result.
5. Scratch head, fire up WTCC2011 (rF1) that worked last night. Same result.
6. Reboot wheel (hear chime on PC). Restart WTCC2011. Still nothing.
7. Wonder if may wheel has gone bunk, plug in GT2 wheel. Same result.
8. Try moving USB cable to different plug on CPU. Same result.
9. Reboot computer. Same result.
10. Say eff it for the night. Going to try picking up another USB cable tomorrow, and cross my fingers that my motherboard hasn't gone bunk.

Not how I wanted to kick off my vacation.

Try this: unplug your DSD box and leave it unplugged, reboot and see if the wheel now works.

Does a USB memory stick work in the USB port? If so you know the port is OK.

I'll give it a shot after work tomorrow. I had thought about that, but it was never an issue before, so I didn't that that would cause it now.

When you plug in the wheel, check it first with the Fanatec properties. That way you can know if the wheel is communicating properly with the PC.

Why I suggest removing the DSD box is because of a little issue I had with mine. I won't clog the thread with that discussion unless you ID the box as the cause.

I dont have that kind of equipment and you guys are talking about things that I dont know. I only can help you with this to calm a little

If your DSD box is taking two controller IDs, I'll bet it's listed as a Ferek Speare device and not a GP-Wiz 40. If so then see here:
