I recieved my beta testing key just before christmas for there newest project.....iam supposibly not allowed to release any videos or details according to the contract i signed about the game thats why i didnt mention the name but iam sure you guys can figure it out
Up till now i was a pcars fanboy, but it only took me a few laps to make me wish i could have invested my $$$ into this game instead!
All aspects of the game have blown me away so far and the new content just keeps getting better!
Graphics are beautiful, not pcars quality but the next best thing! running triples on max settings and getting a smooth 60fps what more could you ask for? All the detail is in the cars and on the track, not worrying about the detail of kid drinking a slurpee 15 rows back in the grandstands and making sure the shadows around him are realistic lol
FFB...way better than pcars, but still needs a bit of tweaking IMOA, will see if my opion changes when i recieve my new fanatec wheel next week
Sound......Ive NEVER heard such beautiful noise in any race game....they aced that category!
Home screen/navigation simple clean and sleek
Not sure what there directions are? seems kinda along the roads of iracing and simraceway, free to play purchase what you want...pricess are very reasonable guess only time will tell?
I know your all rfactor supporters but id strongly advise to sign up for there closed beta testing you'll be pleasantly surprised, i think it will be a good 2nd sim to run for the next gen of games

it took me 3 months to get selected, so it wont be right away, by the # in the weekly contests theres less than 100 so far

I submitted an application for this beta when it came out in the fall, but have not heard anything from them
Would submit another app but I can't recall what lies I told in the first and I hate to contradict myself

Guess will just have to wait and see if I get selected or the game gets released.

I did find the limited demo pretty good on Steam, but it was not too configurable so waiting to see what the release is.

All that said, as much as I like Project Cars, SimRaceway, iRacing, etc.
I fear this upcoming game is going to be another one of those 'locked' down environments.
This is why personally I am most looking forward to release of Assetto Corsa and 1.0 release of rFactor2.
I think it is the ability to mod these games which will ultimately give them the longest life and carry them past their competitors.

same as me fred pcars is pretty boring in my eyes its eye candy that is all i regret getting it tbh. rF2 if its anything like rF1 with mods (V8s especially) then its a no brainer, iRacing havent really tried yet (at all really) i will keep an eye on Assetto Corsa is it a moddable game as well?

I actually prefer the look of this one to pCars, I tend to agree with OSF rF2 may look poor against these other sims but it's the feel that keeps me hooked...and that's without a single car that really rocks my boat, but still I keep firing it up. AC is the dark horse, in a month or two we should get the Beta and get some idea. AC and rF2 will rise or fall on what the Mod makers do, and that will be...is already...quite a battle.

Other than greed and controlling the game iam not sure why the developers of these games are choosing to lock them down? If it wasn't for the modding community a lot of the older games would have died off. I guess they believe if games like iracing, forza and Gt5 can be successful so can they? To be honest I think that route puts more pressure on them cause they have to continually release add ons and updates if they don't the game dies in a yr?
As long as it has touring cars ill be happy!
Hopefully this is a glimpse of what's to come for gtr 3 which I've heard absolutely nothing about?
For a small company that's had money problems in the past and cancelled projects, I find it odd they would release info of starting gtr 3 than release this and have a closed beta?

Forza & GT5 only work because they are on closed platforms.. iRacing well its a different beast altogether
