I am not having problems globally with the mod.
Security is not the issue because if I load the Community Edition set of vehicles and change settings those work fine and stick. If I switch to either the 2010 or 2011 Seasons that is when the settings default to High and won't save changes.
Also I have the track locations in the config file pointing to the main rFactor install where I have all the tracks installed. Again if I run the Community Edition Vehicles I can choose any track and it loads fine. If I choose either 2010 or 2011 seasons, then regardless of what track I try to load, the game displays the splash screen for Round 1 @ Yas Marina and that is the track that loads.
I will shoot a video tonight of what I am seein and maybe that can shed some light on the issue.

How many Mods are you running? If it's just the V8 Mod, Why use the light version and go through all the BS. Just install the V8 Mod to the normal game directory and use the light for any other mods you may want in the future. As for the problems your having, IDK what is going on their, each season should use the same Screen res no matter what. And we are running the 2011 season cars.

I think I will chalk this first run up to a learning experience, wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Thanks for the help and pointers so far!
Cheers!

yup you'll like them with your penchant for R-class cars in forza, these V8's are mental at the outset but really are a hoot to drive fast, more speed, more downforce, hotter tires you know all that though

Hehe. And unlike Forza, these cars actually grip. You can use the throttle out of a corner w/o swapping ends. They do take a bit of braking distance....as a heavy car should.
