It's worth a shot, but I'm pretty sure it will not work for anyone else.

Umm, we have an iRacing animal in our midst. hoser, aka Lance, has over 1200 official race starts, and over 100 wins in iRacing. He has an A license in both ovals and road. We are not worthy!!!

i tried the code but its a no go gives an invalid code respone. @hoser no i dont understand the ins and outs of iracing yet...ive just been doing it for a less than a month, i was under the impression that if your sr feel below the class standards than you would be dropped down a class......also unaware you got a .50 sr boost per class upgrade. Thnx for the info!

Yeah it's confusing at first Kurupt. But always do a time trial if you are .01 or .02 away. You only have to do 10 laps to get .01 bump and when you go over or under a whole number you gain or lose .50.
So keep that in mind. If you are at 3.99 and you run a 10 lap time-trial, you will gain .01, which brings you to 4.00 but add .50 to that so you will be at 4.50.
If you met the MPR you are then promoted to the next class and lose 1.00 SR so you end up at 3.50, but the next higher class level.
It works both ways as I said. If you have a bad race and it brings you below a whole number, you also get that added .50 bump or in this case, drop. ;-)

@kurupt, you must be very unlucky or something. You have a lot of incidents in those Mazda cup races. If you look at my profile, you can see 3 Mazda cup races with a total of 2 incidents. Those were for overcooking a corner and going off the track. I have had no contact with other cars. I have been using the Mazda Cup race to bring up my SR the last few days. My SR has taken a hit in the series I have been running that I'm racing in. Mainly the GT Challenge Series. But it is fun to race.
In the Mazda cup races I run, I don't bother qualifying. I want to be gridded at the back. If I'm not at the very back, I will start from the pits. At the beginning of the race, I will hang back and let the first corner/lap carnage take out a few guys and tip toe my way through the wreckage. After a few laps, once the field has spread out, I start hot-lapping.
If I come up on somebody obviously slower than me, I will hang back for a bit and watch them. Sometimes that's enough to make them nervous and they run off the track. Sometimes they will move over and let me by. Sometimes they do everything they can to keep me from getting by. I don't force the issue, if I can get by cleanly on a long straight, I will go for it. If they won't let me by, I back off and let them have their fun.
Now if someone comes up behind me that is obviously faster than me, I will fight my way through the corners and then as I'm pulling onto a straight, I will make it look like I hit it wrong and come out a little too slow. I won't slow way down, just hold a nice steady line so they see the opportunity and pull out to pass. Once they get along side, I will back off a little to make sure they can pass cleanly before the next corner.
I could run Mazda Cup races all day and get my SR to 4.99, but that is no fun. What is fun is to run the Corvette and Star Mazda at Spa and get into some battles. But it has it's risks and I'm willing to accept that. I have my blue stripes on my car and as long as my SR stays above 1.00, I can't lose them.
The moral of the story is, the Mazda cup is full of Rookies and other non drivers, but it is a necessary evil when you are just starting out. I have seen plenty of people in there just looking for SR also. You can tell by the way they race. I consider it the SR series for me. It shouldn't be that hard to run an incident free race. Try my strategy, it works for me every time. Once you get promoted to the license class you want, you can start having some fun racing.

Iam putting the mazada cup aside for the remainder of the week nothing but bad luck for me, i jumped in the caddy today and ran some races, trials and qualiy....my sr/ irating both jumped up and iam having my fun with that car.....the race didnt go to plan as i cooked a corner and messed my car up, but no contact from others! Mazada is fun and ive had some great battles with others but when doing time trials in it all the time i fall asleep and make mistakes, the caddy feels great and lots of feed back through the wheel.. the car keeps my full attention when iam driving. I have been running stock settings on my new fanatec and decided to play with the profile settings cause stuff just didnt feel right in iracing......the only way to describe it was a bicycle tire on ice.....i made 1 adjustment to the dampening and lowered it from 100% to 1% and it made a world of difference no more icy tires....lowered my avg lap time in the caddy around mosport by almost 5 secs.....ive yet to try any other cars but iam hoping the same cause i was really getting tired of the car being uncontrollable when stopping causing random spin outs and tank slappers at low speeds. Hopefully this will turn my luck around and get me in the right direction.....with a few more runs today i should get my license bump!
