Good article! Too bad the people in iRacing that need it most won't read it.
I watched all of the driving school videos last night. Good little refreshers for basic racecraft.

Yeah, there are guys who need this advice, who won't bother to read the article and more importantly, to take it to heart. Overall, though, my experience has been good in the C, B and A license races. If guys screw up, they usually apologize right away. Sometimes guys are in denial but then after they watch the replay, they will acknowledge that they blew it. I have gotten several PMs of that nature.

Yes its a very good article, but it's very ironic that he references the Mazda Cup series where the most ridiculous failed attempts to overtake normally occur.
I was in a race there last week on Summit Point. I was following a guy around who I was slightly faster than. When I got close enough, I noticed blue stripes on his bumper so I figured he would race clean. I got a good run coming off the last corner onto the front straight and made a clean pass, got clear and moved in front of him. Then as we were entering the braking zone, he pulled out to pass me and took us both out in turn one. I sent him some in race messages asking why he did it. He apologized and said he screwed up so I let it go. But it just goes to show that it isn't just rookies that create all the mayhem.

At least he apologized. I have never remained pissed about getting taken out after an apology.

At least he apologized. I have never remained pissed about getting taken out after an apology. Exactly. Which is why I let it go and moved on.
