So with the new PC I have turned the detail much higher than I had with my old POS PC. Problem is, I feel that it should look a lot smoother. It's hard to explain but I just think the screen looks dicey and I cannot figure out why.
What rendering settings do you guys run? I have set the AA in the video cards properties to overide the game since that is what is recommended for iRacing with ATI cards. Could that be messing up rF? I am getting 150+ frame rates at the moment.
I need to do more testing but I almost prefer the look of my previous settings. Less detail but I could see the track better.

I run the Control Panel at default settings (except the dynamic clock speed option is disabled* so the card doesn't downclock [not sure what that's called in CCC), pick DX9 and Level 4 AA in rFconfig, and in-game all options are either maximum or one click down. Texture filtering is at 4x.
Also, right-click the EXE and under Compatibility Options pick "Disable Desktop Composition". That might just be a Nvidia quirk but that one check box gains me over 100 fps.
* this is because rF1 is so easy on the video card that it will often downclock... I find that leads to stuttering if there's a crash or something that suddenly generates a lot of smoke and parts flying.

My issue was with the config. I think when I installed the GT mod I was in a rush and never set the settings correctly. I had no AA and it was on something like 20 MHz lol. Looks brilliant now! (duh)

wouldnt that run a bit less perty/sharp though F1? I find it's a nice balance. I don't see a lot of improvement with higher settings.
