CAR CLASS: Group 5a
RACE FORMAT: Sprint / Inter format. Sprint grid based off qualification time. Inter grid set from Sprint finish order w/ top 8 inverted.
QUALIFICATION: 5 minute timed qualification as in prior seasons.
PIT STOPS: 1 pit stop required for Inter race, none required for Sprints.
RESTARTS: 1 Restart will be allowed for a major accident during first lap at Stewards discretion. An additional restart may be allowed for a technical issue. After some of the difficulties we had in Season 2, I'm going to try to enforce this to keep the program moving so we can finish in a timely manner.
POINTS: Driver points will be based off Season 6 V8 series. Manufacturer Points (25, 22, 20, 18). Top 2 cars will accumulate points for manufacturer.
PROVISIONAL POINTS: Provisional points will be awarded this season. Points will be assessed at 50% of last position. A maximum of 4 event provisionals (2 races per event) may be accumulated. Provisionals will not accumulate until driver has completed an event weekend (ie: can't accumulate provisionals on week 1) to officially enter the series.
