I will be there this Sunday. Actually works great for me. My wife is still out of the country on the other side of the world and won't be back until Monday. Even though she's not the mother of my children, she still expects me to give her attention on Mother's Day.

This is something I never got really. Its not "wife's day". Kids should honor their mothers. Aside from Dad's helping younger kids get presents and such, its a day for the Mother portion, not the wife portion. Same with Father's day. Its not "husband's day". Kids and dads. My not so random thought this morning.  |

Ha! It's a day where I pretend the kids made her breakfast and I let her sleep in. I also referee the kids and make sure they don't bother her. If I had a nickel for every "mommy" that is said in my house I'd be racing real cars lol.

My not so random thought this morning. I've tried using that very logic with my wife, I said "you're not my mother, why do I have to do anything for you on Mother's Day?" Not a good topic to start, so now I just be nice to her and she does the same for me on Father's Day. Even though she's not "my" mother she is a mother and the name of the day is Mother's Day which means it's her day so I just deal with it. If/when you ever get married and/or have kids you will understand. |

Well I am not speaking from inexperience. When my 4 kids were growing up I made sure that every Mother's Day they had the presents and know how to prepare a nice day for their Mom and I always made sure they spent the day with her.
I spent time with MY mother in person and then via technology when we lived in different provinces.
It is the way I was raised by my mom and dad and all of my brothers and
sisters spent the day with dad or mom depending on the day.
I passed this along to my kids and we'll see how things go when they have kids of their own.
My current girlfriend and I don't have plans for any more kids. She is hinting at marriage but having been squarely kicked in the testicles the first time round, I am a little gun shy about a second go around.

Its pretty cut and dry for me, since May 12 is also my wife's birthday. The bottom line is that if I want to do any racing next Sunday, it better be before my wife gets up. That might mean a 4am wake up time, so I can get 3 or 4 hours of racing in before we hit the road to the inlaws.

Reminder guys, our race is this morning. Server goes live at 7am PST, qualifying at 8:20am PST and 30 minute race starts at 8;30am.
