The FWD Kia was released yesterday. I tried it out last night and had a ball throwing it around the corners at the visually improved Laguna Seca. But, I rarely drive FWD cars anymore, and I don't think I have every driven one with real physics, like we see in iRacing and rFactor. What do I need to keep in mind as I drive a FWD car? I assume it will tolerate higher RPMs better because the power is up front? How should I hit the turns?

That iR Kia has the potential to be a crazy car... isn't it like 350 hp?
For me the goal with FWD is to remember that I can't steer well with the rear (unless flicking the car into a corner) so it's all about pointing the wheels where I want to go and remembering that if I turn too sharp that the resulting understeer also means a loss of drive. LEt teh front wheels pull you where you want to go. I always try to remember that on a FWD car the front wheels are alway sbeing asked to do two things... steer and drive.
Once you feel the FF go light, you're not getting power down. You have an advantage with FWD that the engine is holding the drive wheels down. You have the corresponding disadvantage that a lot of the car's mass is also at the front and that those frotn wheels are being asked to do a lot.
You could try a few laps in the Skodas that we run on Monday to get a handle on a lower powered FWD car. Based on what I know from pushing my Mk4 GTi to the limit, the Skoda mod is a pretty accurate representation of the handling characteristics of that FWD platform (Skoda Octavia/Jetta/Golf/GTi... all basically the same VW platform).
I haven't run the iRacing VW Jetta in a few years so I'm not sure how accurate that it.

I can't give you many tips but FWD cars tend to under-steer a bit. Any decent about of power to front wheels that are used for both acceleration and turning is not great. There are limited slip diffs and fancy electronics on some modern cars that help though. When I read about the introduction of that car I chuckled. It may be fun to drive (I may never find out) but there are so many other cars out there they could have picked. $ talks.
And I'm not being a marque snob. I think Kia has the best looking overall line up of Asian produced cars.

Dale beat me to it, but to his point, I thought the Renaults we ran in rF2 last time were a very good representation of FWD cars. I've only ever owned FWD cars

ya to add to dale they are actually asked to do 3 things accelerate, steer & brake (well around 80%) but also mate being FWD don't mean it can tolerate high RPM more than RWD that is a totally different reason (even the V8s could easily run at say 9500rpm but are limited by the rules to 7500rpm I think its more of a longevity thing)

I caved and bought the car. I had a couple of beers in me last night and noticed I get a 20% discount as a 100% road content owner. I added the Gen 6 Chevy too. Sigh... impulse purchase.

The beer turned off that part of my brain that says "How much will you really drive this car"

So far out of all the iRacing cars I have driven (not many really...lol) the only real stinker has been the Mustang.
The SRF is tough to drive but when you get it right, its great!

Zolder is kinda weird... it took me a lot of laps to get comfortable.
