We are now in week 13 so 2013 season 1 is officially done. It was my first full season of iRacing. I think I did ok. I ran a total of 245 official races and had 15 wins. My main focus was the IndyCar fixed oval series. I ran 56 official races and had 11 wins. They even gave me a couple of certificates. Here is one of them: The other one was for 2nd place in season time trial which I'm sure you don't need to see. I also received a few other certificates: 3rd place in my division for the Grand Am Sports Car Series with the McLaren, 2nd place in my division in the Star Mazda Time Trial Championship, 2nd place in my division in the Grand Am Sports car series Time Trial championship, And this one for the Corvette in the GT Challenge Series: I also received a Photo Finish award for winning by a 0.034 second margin with the IndyCar at Texas on April 14th. I didn't even notice that when it happened, just noticed today when I was looking through my awards. I was in division 4 in oval and division 5 in road, but since my iRatings have improved I have been bumped up to division 2 in ovals and division 3 in road, so I don't think the certificates will be so easy anymore.

Nicely done Troy. That is a very impressive list of achievements, particularly for only your first season. Gregor Huttu should be quaking in his boots!!!

Meh, try doing 300 races in R2P!!! I kid of course. Congrats. I'm lucky to get two or three GBR races in a week and haven't run an iR official race in a very long time. Your stats are awesome.

Zed, like you, I have kids and so its difficult to find time to race. What I have done is find official series at iRacing that I can fit in early in the morning before the kids wake up, and at night after they go to bed, but before I have to pack it in. This works particularly well on weekends. I typically can do a Cadillac Cup, C Fixed or B fixed race in 30-45 minutes, including warm up. I qualify early in the week on Monday night, and only do a lap or two for each. The only series I practice for is the NASCAR iRacing series, since its awfully long and I only do one race a week. Last night, for example, I was able to get in an oval "fun" 40 lap race at Charlotte after we finished V8 Supercars. I know that track like the back of my hand and so no practice or qualifying was needed. I got second in the top split. iRacing works well if you want to do a quick in and out race with minimal need for practice, and few, if any, technical issues.

I hear you Craig. It's just that I picked the SRF series and I need to practice because that car is a bear to keep straight and I am still not that familiar with the tracks. With all of the GBR stuff going on, which I need at least a little practice on, I find I spend more time practicing rather than racing, lol. Just so many tracks to learn and get used to. It's great that you guys have the knack for the tracks and can get so many races in.
And that Tray has done it so well is an even bigger feat.

Congrats! Very nice to get some tokens of your achievements. You have certainly taken to iRacing in a major way and its great to see you getting the results.

Troy's record is all the more impressive when you consider he is doing the road racing stuff. On the other hand, I am only doing the Cadillac Cup, which only runs four tracks, Mosport, Laguna, Sonoma and Mid Ohio. Yes, that series is changing with the addition of the Kia, but there are not a ton of new tracks and so I can get away with less practice. For the ovals, no practice is generally needed, since I now know most of the tracks. Also, practice sucks, I just want to race. Ovals are better for that kind of mindset than road tracks. On the rFactor side, I don't practice at all for Spazcar and MX-5s. I do practice for V8s and your Historix series, primarily out of fear of ruining someone else's race.
