GRID 2

Just wandering if anyone is getting this for PC?
Steam has a 10% off sale going until release May 27 $44.99 Pre-purchase.
The videos look amazing, besides I always buy anything from Codemasters that has to do with racing, have since the PlayStation 1 and TOCA Turing Cars. All the TOCA games, Colin McRae Rally, Dirt, Pro Race Driver and Grid. None have ever disappointed.
So looking to see who I may be able to race with from here.

No in car view is a real disappointment, it looks gorgeous and I was a real TOCA fan but since I have gone triple screen and got the feel for cockpit view I can't go back...Bargain bin pick up for me.

I plan to buy for PC. I am waiting on pre-ordering it until I can get the free copy of GRID 1.

Free Grid 1 is on the table, slowly approaching tier 3 freebies.

My first impressions of GRID 2 are great. The game play is very fun and in gauging. No it dose not have a cockpit view, but the hood view is at the base of the front window, so it's just about as good.
It's not a Sim, but then it's not supposed to be. But the physics in game are great IMO, and the damage physics are just plane awesome.
Below is a vid where I stuffed it into a wall and punctured the left front. After running on it, it finally shredded.
The vid the game exports is not HD, sorry, but if you look, you can see the tire is flat, not just pushed thru the track, and when it went, it actually raised the car a bit. You could feel it in a way. I'm completely enjoying this game.
I also got a free copy of GRID, and it dose have a cockpit view, and is way better on PC then my X-Box 360. I have not tested to see if a wheel can be mapped yet.

I fired GRID 2 up last night, just after my Steam PC copy was unlocked. I concur with Dan's comments. I would add that playing it on PC with triple screens is simply amazing. Codemasters yet again does not disappoint in the graphics department. The game looks simply amazing, as good as if not better than any other sim out there, beta or not. There is no cockpit view but I did not find myself missing it all that much. The game works perfectly with my Clubsport wheel. It automapped the controls, I only needed to do minimal fine tuning. The FFB feels superb. There is plenty of it and I can really feel what the car is doing. In the physics department, its not rFactor 2 or iRacing, but its nonetheless solid. You can spin these cars if you drive too out of control. My only complaint is that the game is a tad hard and when I play a "simcade" racer, I am not interested in bone crushing AI. I found that on the "medium" skill level the AI were just too unfairly fast. I switched to "easy" and perhaps that will be more manageable. If I want hard racing, I can do that against you guys or online in iRacing.
Anyway, I would characterize this as a must buy. It will be a nice diversion while I wait impatiently for Gran Turismo 6.

Hmm, think I'll still wait for a sale, but it does look fun so I'm sure I'll be picking it up sometime. Sparks off the rim look deadly.

No cockpit view made it easy to pass on this Grid. I was really just looking for a convenient excuse cause I really don't need ANOTHER racing game. I don't even play all the ones I have now.

Two things.
First, I played again last night on the "Easy" difficulty setting and it was much more manageable. As I alluded to above, when I play an arcade or simcade racing game, I really don't want hard AI. We can leave hard to rFactor, F1 2012 and iRacing.
Second, now that Codemasters has released GRID 2, its time to give us some news on Dirt 4, preferably next week at E3. I am hoping they return to their Colin McRae Rally roots and give us a more hardcore rally sim, with RBR physics and FFB, but modern graphics and controls.

I'm with you there Craig, Even though I loved the trucks and buggies in Dirt2, (Not so much in 3) I wish they would go back to just rally, as in Colin McRea Dirt 4. And a separate dedicated Dirt game for the trucks and buggies. I would buy them both, as nobody dose an off-road racing game that can compare to the trucks from Dirt2. Take the concept from Baja Edge of control, and the graphics/physics of the trucks in Dirt2. That would be an awesome game.
