Tonight I got Grand Prix Legends installed again and copied in my 10-year old player folder and it was like I never left. Although, new now is the triple monitors which basically worked out of the box once I figured out the right video settings and patched the exe for a reasonable FoV. Thanks to a website called GPLRank I was able to pull up my old fast lap times from 2003 and I'm now going to see if I can beat them. Right now I'm about 1 sec per lap slower at Kyalami using the same setup. You know, the sim isn't all that bad. Sure the graphics are old (tires are like 20-sided rather than round), the sounds are like bees in a can and the FF is kinda numb... but you know how when you fire up FM1 and you're like, "What is this shit?"... well GPL isn't as bad as that.

Cool!!! I tried GPL for the first time right before I built my new PC a year ago.I haven't tried to reinstall it on the new Windows 7 PC yet, thinking it wont go as smooth as the old XP machine did. I think I still have all the files sitting on the drive ( Same drive that was in the XP PC)so maybe should give it a shot.
I was amazed for as old as it was how good it really was, after all it is the all time classic grand master of racing sims.
