Tonight's race was the saddest moment I've had since being here. enough said.
Someone let me know who won.

ResultsOK, firstly thanks all for coming out. A big thanks to John and his fast fingers for helping set the grid on the restart. Thanks for being understanding after Hawks' server bit the dust and we switched to mine. Even then things weren't perfect as I saw lagging a few times and Ed's car was a hovercraft for much of the race. Hawks and I and a few of the other experienced server guys have some head scratching to do. I know there were some unhappy people based on what I heard during the first lap or two. Please feel free to contact the staff if you need to. I apologize to John for hitting him once and doing a dive bomb across his path. We were on different tire strategies and I needed to be more patient.

Bit of a disaster from top to bottom. It's one thing to have tire strategy decide a race, it's another thing to have most of the night NOT be racing, because everyone is nursing shot tires and letting people by. It didn't help that the Practice server was, I guess, set to later in the day, so track temperatures skyrocketed. My 25 lap Intermediates were suddenly 15 lap Intermediates, and I was lucky to get 6 out of the R/F on Softs. I plummeted from 5th to outside the top 10. Then I screwed myself with a pit road penalty, but whatever. Switching to Softs didn't help, I was a full second off my personal best the entire race. I'd be interested to hear if any of the top 5 managed to get some good long times out of Intermediates, especially Jeff. Maybe my setup was just too aggressive for the hotter track, I dunno. Can it be sprint race time naow? EDIT: just my opinion, and maybe letting off a bit of steam, not trying to bitch or be negative. I know we're still trying things out and the server change threw everyone for a bit of a loop. It's just unfortunate to see how PERFECT a race Adelaide was, tire strategy or otherwise, and see the same attempt here and it just doesn't work.

I managed 27/8 laps on the first stint, and still had over 50% tire left at the end (2nd stint). I was running pretty much steady 1:05/06s all race. I was really keeping an eye on LF temp, and trying to avoid scrubbing the tires in the corners. We had quite the scrap for 4th place during the last couple laps. 4th through 8th all piled on top of each other. I was happy to walk away with a 7th place...solid top 10! Had some good racing with folks throughout the night.

The Practice server race time was set to Default Time. NoName would be able to tell us how the temperature changes between Practice sessions and Race (I think it's calculated on the fly from track time, date and latitude).
I don't know what race time the Race server was set to.
FWIW, my tire wear matched pretty closely to what I was getting on the practice server last night. John, you got 15 laps on inters? I got 15 laps on my first set of softs and could've gone a few laps longer.

Congrats Champ once again.... i had a good night, not a great night. but i finished ! and that's what i was looking to do. i had a few lite digs nothing to major. the car handle great but like any car it was different at race time. in a corner i was extremely tight in. suddenly became a snapping lose corner?!?!?!? go figure lol! hopefully now i can get back to the groove. once again it was fun. and i enjoyed myself
----->Boss<---- I'd like to see some kind of change with this restarts. we need to re-start for every one who dings there car on the first lap or not at all. this is getting a little bit nutz.

It's always a bit of a judgement call on restarts. If I didn't hear the request for a restart I apologize.
I've got 10+ people talking at once and my engine screaming in my ears. And all that is going on at the same time as I'm racing for position. It's like being an air traffic controller while people are hitting you with dodgeballs.
If no one asks for a restart then I assume any mayhem I hear behind me is the result of racing incidents and people are getting underway again. It takes too much of my own racing concentration away from my driving to glance at the GID map and fully assess all the chat coming in to me.
If there are suggestions on how to handle restarts in a reproducibly fair way then I'm open to hearing that. Send that via PM to me and I'll ensure that the staff all read it.

I enjoyed myself tonight, I had the pace I thought to finish...well basically exactly where I did so nothing bad there. I hummed and hawed about the tire strategy and then chickened out and did a two pit inter race. Ran pretty steady 1:05's and 1:06's, no fuss, no big mistakes and a decent finish all in all.
It is really tough to know people are rage quitting though, with so many good experienced drivers we shouldn't have the preventable corner bombing every race just because our numbers have gone up a bit. I know we have an oversight committee of race stewards, maybe it's time to start cracking the whip. I mean last race I got into the back of Jimmy on turn 2, we all kept racing but if the stewards assessed me a penalty for the next race for reckless driving there would be no complaints from me. We all know when we cock it up, and the replays are pretty clear.
Another thought I had was maybe it's time for two rooms? This might solve our numbers and server problems that seems to be occurring for what can only be sheer numbers?, and we avoid being lapped three times a race by half the pack. I realize that this means we have to have an admin in each room but it might temper the anger a bit. Fast guys were getting pissy about not being let by, and it's no fun having to give up on your own race to accommodate someone else's either. I mean if we're all racing isn't the guy in front of us just as important in 16th as it is in 2nd in our own minds? But I digress, that's racing and the blue flag exists for a reason I know but no one's being paid, and no sponsors will withdraw in our league but we could lose guys if we're not careful in our chase for big grids.

Sometimes you are the windscreen, other times you are the bug. Tonight I was the guy in the pits saying F* it.

Nicely said Brent. But i will fight the two room deal until it becomes inevitable, or we sort out the server issues.
My reasoning for this is two fold. 1. It will create a fast guy slow guy mentality that kills competitive racing. 2. It takes away any chance of a mid to rear pack guy running an upset. I know, I've done it a few times and it feels great. As for guys expecting people to just move over for them when being lapped. I noticed as I watched tonight that some were just pushing their way through, instead of waiting for a safe pass. The slower car needs to watch for the blue flag, but they are not required to just move out of the way. If it can be done in a safe manner, they are encouraged to do so, but other then that, the faster car needs to find a way around, and the slower car needs to stick to their line. I seen a couple people catch a slower car and just dive in and give them the door in a corner that had no room for a move over. And the faster car did not give any verbal warning at all. And the slower car takes the blame when this maneuver fails and the faster car wrecks. This is TOTAL BS.
Traffic plays a big role in racing, even in Real Life. So if your in P1 don't expect traffic to part for you like the water for Moses so P2 wont catch you. Sorry, racing is not that way.

seems to be a lot of agro this season and tbh im hopeless at overtaking as im concentrating that much not to tap em I never remember to put in my intentions to a vocal aspect. I will admit I had a coupla dodgy passes myself on slower guys apologies to any ive tapped.

Hey guys thanks for having me in there hope to make a few more a decent grid is always fun Firstly congrats on a full grid It was good c for the first ever v8 "enduro" that's ran at the track I think your server issues would probly be a combination of the mod and the numbers it tends to be at it's worst at the start and smooths out a bit after a couple laps .as lately we have had similar issues in aus with all aus drivers I saw a bit more lag issues but thats probly down to me being on the others side of the world The race.... restarts meehhh some of you guys are getting used to the mod ya just gotta go real easy on the start cold tyres mixed with cold brakes mixed with guys on softs and guys inters theres always bottling up its the start of a race on a circuit .. not an oval Had a ball coming from behind sorry marvin for tapping you and sending you round and the jim beam car not sure of name but lapping you I didn,t communicate very well and sent you round too. here in Aus we say the slower guys stay on your line the fast guys are fast enough and experienced enough to get round you ... dont block of course in the corner but a faster person should be able to time there overtake to a straight. track i didnt pay attention too during race the race date I'm pretty sure without looking is set to the actual race date and the global position was set similar to other pukekohe tracks ... maybe I havent changed the settings again from the first version i released ...I will check ... nope september 29 the date is so the coordinates probably are default to BTB also ..Doh! september 29 is summer over this way oh and well done to jeff on the win good speed and good tyre conservation is the key to success in these especially around pukekohe thx noname or Jason you can call me EDIT** looked at my barbagallo gdb not puke .....puke is set to the right date and lat/ long
