Date: June 9, 2013 Time: 7:00am PST (Practice starts at 7:00am PST, Qualifying begins at 8:10am, Race begins at 8:25am) Car: Spec Racer Ford (aka "SRF") (included in base package) Track: Spa (paid content) Practice/Warm Up: 70 minutes Qualifying: 15 minutes, 4 laps Race: 35 minutes Tune: Open (not fixed). Helios did a quality tune for the SRF a while ago, and it should help for this track. Here it is:
SRF Okayama.sto (718 B)
Keep in mind that we will have to start on time, since there is no way I can change the race start time once we are in the sim. You can be late for practice/warm up and qualifying and can come and go as you please. There will be unlimited Fast Repairs, so no one is left completely in the dust due to a mistake. Since you all seem to be road purists, this will be a standing start.
Please note that in July, we will switch to the Star Mazda for our road racing series. Points will reset. This is our final event for the SRF road series. Zed is our current leader, followed by Kelly and Troy.

Love Spa... should be a fun race. Which layout are we using? Cheers! GP Pits. Also, I had to adjust the practice to 70 minutes, qualifying to 15 minutes and the race will be 35 minutes. This is to account for the longer laps. We will finish and start at the same times as usual.

I found out you can join the room anytime before the race starts. If you join during qualifying and don't set a time, you will be gridded at the back. Once the race starts, nobody new is allowed to join.

Once the race starts, nobody new is allowed to join. This is true, but if you are late for the race itself, I cannot stall the start time like we can and often do in rFactor. Moreover, we have to start and finish on time in our iRacing events because Enduracers or Porsche Supercup come after us. My NW League races are scheduled the same way and it works out well. Our members are conditioned to be on time or else they will miss the race, which is how iRacing works generally.

Thanks again for hosting,Craig. Looks like I got Kelly by 4 points. Would have been even closer if Troy hadn't had an off. I wish I could be half as consistant in the other series we run.

Great race guys. Here are the final standings. Congrats to Zed on the championship, and Kelly and Troy on the podiums. Next month we will start with the Star Mazda at Lime Rock.

Oooh that was terrible, if I went any slower I'd have been going backwards. Sooo the Star Mazda...wonder if I will be as bad in that?

Oooh that was terrible, if I went any slower I'd have been going backwards. Sooo the Star Mazda...wonder if I will be as bad in that? You should be much faster in the Star Mazda since your Formula rim is on the way. The Star Mazda and Formula rim work really well together. You will have to come up with some new excuses if you plan to stay at the back. As for my race, I did it again. Fastest lap in practice, pole position qualifying, fastest lap in the race, and not even on the podium. I really had that car figured out, but it just bites so hard on the slightest mistake. And once it starts to go, there is almost no stopping it, you are normally just along for the bumpy ride. Oh well, on to the next series with the Star Mazda. Another very temperamental car. A blast to drive when you can keep it on the track, but reacts violently to braking while turning or late braking into corners. Make sure you slow down in a straight line before you enter a corner. If you go into a corner too hot and have to lift off the throttle mid turn, or even worse try to brake, you will be in for a wild ride. Craig, please keep the unlimited fast repairs going for the Star Mazda series, because a lot of damage can happen with even the slightest bumps with these cars. And even waiting for the entire required and optional repairs doesn't guarantee a drivable car.

LOL If only it worked that way. I am so dialled into FWD this other stuff is very tough for me, I don't seem to have any natural feel for it. But I am slowly getting there, I am racing myself more than others and now me would beat starting out me so I take some comfort in that, but when you cross the finish line after everyone else has left the game...Damn that hurts. He he
I know Lime Rock well, but in a Clio, god knows what it's going to be like in the Star Mazda...When I get my rim I will try that first!
