Well drivers , while the announcement is late I'm sure many have you have seen that the server is up and we are off to our final road course event of the season. For those that need to , make sure your passports are in order and that cars , equipment and teams have clearance. We are off to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve! Thats right bordering hoping over to Montreal for the what should be an exciting 30 laps of action. There are some things to take note of in this event. - Two tires on the actual racing surface at all times, the curbs do not count as the surface in this matter. 2 on the curb 2 on the track is acceptable.
- There will be no full cautions unless most of the field is involved in an incident. And no penalties cleared this week
- Open Practice starts a 7PM and that INCLUDES qualifying session up to 7:25PM PST
I will be resetting the server at 6:55PM and using Live racers to watch if times are clean or not in the practice/ qualifying session. Good luck everyone and look forward to seeing you all out there! ( Non Spazcar regulars welcomed, please pick a stock in game team and use real name and only if you've checked with the server to make sure you have the correct install first. There won't be time to work through issues the night of the race, so please be ready.)

Ian, how do we get the track? Is it already in the VHR mod?

Hmm, I have had zero luck driving NASCAR on road courses so far in our series. Maybe tonight will be different....

Its similiar to the v8 one. Only much tighter chicane by the pits. I will be "policing" that corner heavily for intentional cutting as it can be an almost 2 sec advantage. Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards

Sorry I had to bail early. Thanks for hosting Ian. These cars and this track are a handful, but a blast as well.

Well done Jeff on the win, and Mark and Sheldon on the podium finishes. Thank you Spaz for hosting and hanging in there when we had some start issues. I ended up having a great race, much to my surprise. Sheldon correctly called "bullshit" on my sucking at road courses line. In all honesty, the Clubsport wheel has breathed new life into my road course racing. I just seem to be able to feel the car better with the Fanatec wheel than I could with the T500. That is not a knock on the T500, its a phenomenal wheel. For whatever reason, the Fanatec FFB works better for me. I had a similar experience with the Elite and CSR wheels. Anyway, I am going to miss next Tuesday's race at Phoenix. I have to go out of town for work.

Had fun last night. Got some damage in a wreck at the final chicane. Pitted a couple laps early and ended up staying in the pits for 35-40 seconds for damage repair. I was counting on another yellow to regroup for the second half. Left the pits in 12th place...barely on the lead lap. I didn't have a choice though, as the suspension was fubared. Corner entry was vague at best, and usually unpredictable. Put my head down to see what I could get out of it. Ended up 5th, not to shabby considering it was green for the entire last 2/3rds of the race (including my extended pitstop). I was hacking time off Craig left and right the final couple laps. Another lap or 2 and I might have been able to get by him. He seemed to be struggling a bit more than I was on the older tires. Surprisingly enough, my fasted laps were late in the second stint. Had some good scraps w/ Stinky, Ced & Custom. Sorry again to Ed for the first failed attempt at getting the car spun around. And sorry to Craig for the tap going into the hairpin. Not too bad, only 2 incidents I was responsible, or partially responsible for. I'm still giving Craig partial blame for turning him around, due to his erratic lines, aka "blocking", I couldn't get a clear line of sight for the upcoming corners. All in good fun though!

Sorry you had to bail Jason , but understandable Craig , you're missing Iowa, Phoenix will be the week after. Glad you had a goo time Tony Chris , FYI, I was very very tempted to call a comp caution with 10 to go to tighten us all up as I like to do for Spazcar, but I weighed the possibilities of it started to bread more and with the start issues we were close to wrap up time ( I try real hard to make it not go past 8:45 PM PST - unless something really special) Had a quick look at the replay last night, though autosim analyzer had Jeff as fastest lap it wasn't clean, Marc got the next fastest lap. Few of us all cut some corners , but nothing that created an unfair advantage in the course of competition, so really no need for penalties to be assigned. Good job everyone! Thanks for coming out guys AND for you post race comments, I gauge how the series is going and doing overall based on your comments and general direction of them each week.

I personally think the competition cautions should be reserved for the ovals, where we expect more door to door racing. NASCAR has some of that concept already built in, including the lucky dog and the wave around. Although I wouldn't say never, I think that competition cautions should be used more sparingly on the road courses. They are not used in real life.

I wasn't expecting a comp caution...I figured there would be a wreck! But in the end it didn't matter. The car was broke, I would've lost more time in the end if I didn't repair it. I'm just thrilled to get it back up to a top 5.

I agree Craig..it why I kinda let the road courses run their course and why there will be less. Damage was only at 25% Chris so I dunno how broke something Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards
