Woah. This is like waiting for Duke Nukem Forever... it better not suck. iRacing has some big expectations to fill here.

That blog post seems like one big caveat. "Hey knuckleheads, don't bitch about this long awaited car because it's hard to drive...it was like that in real life.

I got the same vibe from the article Zed. I can't wait to see the forums explode with people complaining about no grip. The term iSkating will be back in full force. Definitely getting this car as soon as it's available. We need to get a Sunday race scheduled with it soon. It sounds like driving the Lotus 49 will make the Skippy and SRF seem like childs play. Can't wait.

Can't wait. The car drives quite well in both rFactor 2 and Project CARS. Yes, it has less grip than other cars, but if you respect it and not mash the throttle, it drives quite well. I expect iRacing's version of the car to be similarly fun to drive.

I have drove the rF2 version a bit. While it's a challenge to drive, you get a good sense of the tire to track grip level through the steering wheel. I'll be curious if Iracing's physics are able to translate that as well.

Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining. I just know how the masses are and it seems they are trying to quell expectations. People are already complaining that the tire model is being released without it being finished.
I would consider buying it if GBR does an event.

iRacing is full of people that complain no matter what. Actually, sim racing on a whole is like that... even the ISI rF2 forums are full of idiots that argue about anything. I think it's great that iR is releasing this car and LB (both with disclaimers/warnings to potential buyers) even if they're not perfect. Especially since I get the Lotus for free Note also, that the Skippy gets this tire model.

I think the iracing version will be good and iam excited for the release but it won't be tops on my list as iam not a big open wheeler fan....with the latest updates I find the cars that are in rf2 to feel much better in iracing but its all just personal preference Asides from this and the Montreal circuit does anyone know of anymore road content being released in the near future? What's going on with the btcc car and tracks?

You are right Kurupt, it is all personal preference. I agree in the latest rF2 build something changed in the physics. I haven't played with it enough to really figure out what it is. Another example of a car easier to drive in Iracing than rF2 is the Skip Barber car. If the Lotus has the same tire model as the Skippy as F1 pointed out, it may be the same here.

Man, I love the iRacing Lotus 49. The physics and FFB are simply amazing. I can feel exactly what the car is doing, even if it's bad!!! It looks great and sounds amazing! iRacing hit the ball out of the park on this one.
