We drove 15 hours yesterday from Anaheim, California, to Eugene, Oregon, and so I am back in my cockpit. We had a great family vacation. Anyway, I ran two official races this morning. Got 3rd in the Global Challenge series bottom split in the Caddy, and got a 10th place finish in the NASCAR Truck Class C fixed top split.

It's weird to be away for an extended period, eh? When I got back from Texas it felt strange to race again.

It does feel strange, particularly last night when I tried to do some practice after driving for 15 hours in my wife's Honda Pilot. I was much better this morning. I definitely missed sim racing, but it was nice to give my wife and kids all of my attention for 10 days of family visits, Disneyland, etc.

Glad you had a good vaca Craig. We went to Disneyland in 2009 and had a great time too. Still have lots of awesome memories. Space Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean were my favorites.

Isn't there a fairly new Cars area there? Carsland is in California Adventure, which is next year's destination. We loved Disneyland so much that we plan to do two days there next year and two days at California Adventure.

Pirates is one of my favorites, along with Star Tours. My son and I had to slip in an extra ride on both as we loved them so much the first time we rode them!!! He was an inch too short for Indiana Jones and so we will have to do that one next year.

I completely understand Craig. I just got back last week after a 9 day trip to Minnesota. I did a lot of driving getting there and back, plus all the driving around while I was there. I don't know the exact number, but it was over 3000 miles of driving and my wife only helped out with less than 150 miles on the way there. I did all the driving while in Minnesota and drove the whole way back to Maryland. It felt a little weird climbing back into the cockpit and racing again. Took me a little while to get back up to speed.
I took the '05 Magnum R/T which I bought a couple of months ago. It was so nice driving through the mountains. It never downshifted once no matter how steep and long the climb was. I love that 5.7 liter Hemi V8. It was also nice while up in Minnesota where there are a lot of 2 lane roads and sometimes you need to pass someone in a hurry. No problem at all, just push the gas pedal and hold on.
