I changed the title of the thread. Let's use this as a discussion thread. Express thoughts, opinions, suggestions here. Thanks!

OK, I'd like to open up the discussion for the cars. I am doing an info dump below. Most of the info I gleaned was from efnet since they ran two seasons of T/A, so credit to them is in order. Our series is far more relaxed so it may not warrant too much of a worry, but I'd like to see some variety in the cars chosen.
They had a tad of an issue with the Javelin dominating early in their season, since it has a braking and grip advantage and they started with fairly short tracks.
John classified the cars in the following groups, basing it on intermediate tracks '69 Camaro '70 Firebird '71 Javelin
'69 Mustang '71 Cuda '71 Challenger
'68 Camaro
'67 Camaro '65 Mustang '64 Falcon T/A
Since I know Dan loves the Cuda, my initial proposal is to run this: '69 Mustang '71 Cuda '71 Challenger '68 Camaro
I think this is a decent representation of these cars. We can start off with this list and make adjustments if we see fit, including ballast if needed. What do all y'all think? I understand you may want to do some testing before commenting.
I'll dig into the tracks shortly.

Since it's more of a casual setting, I would leave it more or less open...maybe just keep out Sunoco Camaros. But as is, I think most of the people will be selecting one of the 4 cars on your list anyways. #9 Alan Moffat Mustang Boss 302 for me.

I am very interested. I have yet to really get the cars running well but I like the idea of TA. One question though why not the 1970 Camaro or Firebird. Are there issues with these cars also. I like the 68 Camaro fine but if you are looking for variety. Jim no. 13 Yunick Camaro for me if we're picking?

I'm not familiar with all of the cars in the mod yet since these cars are not my cup of tea. I'll have to look at it more closely. Maybe it is too quick. Point taken, Chris. I just don't want to make it a runaway for one car. You would want to see the Javs kept in it?

Id personally like to see the javs in for variety as this has much of the feel already of chris' vintage t/a he ran in forza..and THAT was a blast. I think all cars should be in and we could just assign weight penalty.

I seriously don't know about the Jav. Everything I read is that it walked on the other cars. I know this is for fun, but part of the fun is keeping the groups together. With 6 guys average at last season, I can see this becoming one sided. It looks like even after they loaded it with 100lbs it still did very well.
I think there are plenty of other cars to keep it fun. I wanted to add other cars to the previous season but they would have been too fast or too slow. I rather not have to deal with the setmass every race either.
One thing I saw mentioned and we can try it here is that once you win w/ a car you have to switch to another car. Not sure how you guys feel about that.

I rather not have to deal with the setmass every race either. You can script it but it's still one more thing to worry about...

They all drive like boats but the falcon is more my driving style.

The Jav & '70 Camaro are in the same boat. Not neccesarily faster in a straight line, but they have a little more grip and easier to control. If you want to keep it limited, maybe keep the Jav & '70 Camaro for those struggling w/ the mod.

We could always do a little testing night or something. but I'm with the guys on keeping it open to the cars that ran the series. Unless we can be sure that one car out shines the others.
According to that list the Cuda and TransAm are in different classes, but they seemed to be pretty close when me and Ian played around in them.
Example:
I'm not against removing a car or two if they will be an advantage all the time. But more choices may bring more drivers.

I was raised on Mopar and still will stop and stare when a 'Cuda drives by or follow it in traffic just to watch it move... so you know what car I'm picking!

I'm going to reserve the '70 Plymouth 'Cuda #62
But I have not driven any of the others yet, so may change my mind. Anyone have a good suggestion for a test track that is good for these cars?
