I'm not getting any better turnout for the Porsches either.
I enjoy running the cars, regardless if anyone else turns out. Yes it's more fun with more people, but fact of the matter is only the V8 turn out any kind of numbers. All the other mods tend to hover around 5-8 cars, w/ occasional spikes for a night here and there.
The idea of adding AI will make the races more involving for sure. Even if we go to an invitational (no points) season, I'd certainly like to see the mod/series continue.
