I'd like the opinion of the folks that plan to run this series. Some of the tracks out there do not have DRS detection/activation zones defined and therefore DRS works all of the time. Having it work all of the time negates the point of DRS. So, please vote and feel free to comment. A little more about the choices. I think less than half of the tracks are setup correctly.
Ban DRS at all tracks
Banning it across the board makes all of the races the same. No need to think differently at different tracks. Keep in mind that I cannot prevent guys from using it. It would be a gentleman's agreement. I doubt we'd have a cheater but I would have to assess a penalty to anyone being caught.
Run DRS where proper zones are defined for the track, but ban at tracks that don't
This option would allow us to use the technology where the track is setup to be used properly. That is, proper detection and activation zones, only trailing cars within 1 second can activate, etc. I think it makes things a little more interesting and matches the real life cars. However, we don't have KERS so we aren't exactly replicating the real cars anyway.
Run DRS where proper zones are defined and allow it at all times at tracks that don't
This option let's us use DRS correctly at some tracks and a free for all at others. This is my least favorite option since being able to run DRS at all times defeats the intent of the system.
I am wrapping up the series information thread and would like your input beforehand.
