I love this track.
I'm not sure my tires will, though.

Only 3 events left in the season. Tonight's event will be a single race of 31 laps at an extremely challenging street circuit. As usual, qualifying will begin at 7:15 PM PDT. Because this is such a tight course, all drivers will need to be alert and be ready to brake early and often to avoid pile-ups. Here are a few things I want to point out before the race.
1. There are 2 chicane sections on this track. Do not cut through these. One of two things will happen if you do. You will either gain a huge amount of time or you will end up on 2 wheels or even worse on your roof. If you do cut the chicane by mistake, you must give the time gained back (or position back if you pass someone). The stewards will review the race after the fact and penalties will be assessed if necessary. This goes for qualifying as well.
2. When you exit pit road, you must stay to the left of the yellow line and go left of the turn 1 chicane. This will help avoid major incidents with cars coming down the front straight and those exiting pit road. Here is a video of the proper way to exit pit road.
3. Only one car can make it through the chicanes. Do not try passing there or carnage will surely ensue. If you are in a battle for position leading up to one of the chicane, the car that is in the lead at the 150 meter marker should be the first one to enter the chicane. In other words, the trailing car at that point should back off to allow the lead car to enter first.
4. This race will be a grind and many panels will be damaged at the end of it. Do your best to keep it clean and most of all, HAVE FUN!

C'mon Sheldon, you can do it! This will be a relatively short race, especially compared to last the one at Bathrust!

That was a great race! I actually managed to work up to 12th which I think is the best I have gotten in the v8's this season. I have to apologize to pavel as I got into the back of him and got him sideways.

Well, I have to be satisfied with 6th. I had no time to practice this week. I'd planned to do so last night but my employer hosted an awards dinner and by the time I got home full of tasty dinner and wine it was instant sleep when I hit the sofa.
I went with a one-stop-stay-out-of-shit strategy, doing my best not to fight with anyone when I had worn tires. The goal was to consolidate my position in the points table and try to close in on Armando. Um yeah... not so much!
Congrats Boza!

Sorry Jimmy, I just lost track of my breaking point and clipped you as you were turning in. Out on lap 2!! Not how I thought it would go, but that's racing.

Well I accomplished my mission , survive. Brushed a few walls but that was expected, just didn't want to get myself turned around in the middle of the track or cause a pileup. That was definitely some great racing. Battling with Tony made quite a few laps go by, great racing buddy.

Congrats to everyone for making it through last night. It sounded like there were very few incidents that weren't self induced. I had a stellar night. I love street circuits, I love curbs. So needless to say, this track was a match made in heaven for me. My goal was to try to make the top 10. After getting into the mid 14's and having fewer than half dozen wrecks (flips, flats or missing body parts) in the practice leading up to raceday I felt pretty confident that I could do it. Well, come raceday, I had my mojoe! I don't know what the deal was, but me and this track really clicked. I spent the early part of the race running at the tail of the 2nd-5th train. It was kinda weird running with Boza & Stinky in these cars...it's been months since I've done that, unless of course I was being lapped. It stayed like that until the lead cars started making their pit stops. Hawks would prove to be my main competition though, through out almost the entire night. We were both on a 1 stop soft tire strategy. I was evidently able to save my tires a bit better, as both stints my car was noticeably faster in the final few laps. The final lap of the first stint I was all up under Hawk's rear bumper trying to unnerve him and coax him into a mistake. Didn't happen, so I entered pit road right on his bumper. I intended to pit a lap earlier, but got to involved dicing it up w/ Hawks and missed pit entry the lap prior. Entering pit road I was greeted to Jimmy in the DJR pit finishing up service (doh) so I stacked up behind him, and then I forgot to turn off damage repair (double doh) so was greeted to an extended pit stay (fortunately only a couple seconds). All this added up to Hawks re-entering the track 6-7 seconds ahead of me. The second stint was a juggling act of trying to save the tires, but cut down the gap at the same time. It was give and take as we cut through traffic. Then with about 5 laps to go, the time started dropping. In the end I was right on Hawk's bumper for the final half lap, with a noticeably quicker car. If only I had another lap or 2, I may have been able to visit the podium for the first time in forever in the V8s. As is, I'll take a 4th and be more than happy with it. It's probably my best finish in the last 3 seasons. And a big props to Boza & Stinky for some heads up driving when I blew my braking mark the one time. I managed to slide up the inside, while they stayed wide to give me room to recover. I had a slow exit anyways, but I didn't rush to the throttle so they could retake their positions. That very easily could've been a major 3 car wreck. Thanks again for everyone coming out last night. It will totally make up for the horrendously long day that today is going to turn into at work w/ only 4 hours of sleep.

Well I had an uneventful first 20 odd laps but leading into my final pitstop I had a couple of poor laps and also traffic which saw Armando jump me during my stop.
Well thats when the race came alive for me! Hunting down Armando and trying to overtake on a track which it is pretty impossible to do unless the other driver makes a mistake. We were both luck on lap 25 when 3 cars were blocking the road and then for the last 6 laps I applied maximum pressure to try and force a mistake and/or make a clean overtake.
Was very intense driving that I really enjoyed. Thanks heaps Armando, and well driven!

Sorry Jimmy, I just lost track of my breaking point and clipped you as you were turning in. Out on lap 2!! Not how I thought it would go, but that's racing. No worries Dan. I didn't take much damage and was able to claw my way back up to finish 15th. Since I started 18th I was very happy with my finish. Apologies to Chris about the botched pit stop. The good thing at least, my pit stop was only 9.2 seconds total, if it had been longer your race would have been fooked. I was toying with a 2 stop strategy but at the last minute scrapped it and went for a one stop on softs. As much as I struggled to find any kind of pace on this track, I was happy not only just to finish, but to finish higher than I started. Not looking forward to this track every again. Congrats to Armando for the win and Nick and Hawks for finishing up the podium.
