One thing that has always disappointed me about the ORSM mod is the dash (especially the Ford!) and the inability to place sponsor/advertising logo's on them.
There is now an easy way to rectify this if you wish!
If you're happy with the current Ford dash, simply "paint" the "V8_BA_DASH", save it in the usual DDS format and place the file in your rfactor\GameData\Vehicles\ORSM directory. There is a minor "issue" with this, in that all Fords will have the same logo's/sponsors on them, and they are only visible in the "cockpit" view.
If, like me, you want a completely new Ford Dash (refer pic), place the "FG.mas" file in your rfactor\GameData\Vehicles\ORSM directory. Also included with the files is a XXXsidewall.psd file. This is the template for you to "paint" your dash. When painted, flatten and save in DDS format and place the file in your specific vehicle's directory using the correct naming format for your vehicle, ie:
ABRFG94
ABRFG94Board
ABRFG94Cpscreen
ABRFG94Window
ABRFG94sidewall
Using the new dash and template will also allow you to see everyone's individual dash's that have used this method. However, like before, the logos are only visible in cockpit mode.
I have tested these files (used them in a race last night) and can confirm that they do not cause a mis-match with a server running the "standard" ORSM dash.
OK, For the Holdens I'm unable to update the dash as the files are encrypted so to have dash logo's on these "paint" the "V8_VZ_DASH", save it in the usual DDS format and place the file in your rfactor\GameData\Vehicles\ORSM directory. As with the Fords all Holdens will have the same logo's/sponsors on them, and they are only visible in the "cockpit" view.
Included in the file is a copy of the original FG.mas file should you ever wish to revert back to this
